Do you suppose that at the time of the opening of the 6th Seal there is a moment--even if very briefly--when the world will get a glimpse of the Lord on His throne? Perhaps a supporting thought about this: The baby that is born in Revelation 12 is snatched up to God and His throne. If that is the time of the 6th Seal, is it possible the world left behind will somehow get a glimpse of the Lord at the throne?

Cool passage from Enoch. I read through Enoch on two occasions and I also love how Jude quotes the words of Enoch. They ring very true for our generation. Jude 14-16 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. Enoch saw the messiah coming with his host from Heaven over 5,000 years ago. Notice that Enoch knew of every wicked behavior that permeates of generation of today.

Some time ago I was reading an article regarding a theory that somewhere around the time of the start of the tribulation a cataclysmic event would cause our 365-day calendar to shift to a 360-day calendar. If I can find the article again, I will post it. I don't recall the author's name, but I'm pretty sure I have it in my study notes somewhere. Found it! Here's the link to a very fascinating series of posts regarding a theory about calendar shifts. I am particularly astounded by the passage he quotes from Enoch 80 regarding years being shortened.

We could easily have an entire thread only on the book of Enoch. But I am very careful to endorse it. My best impression of it is that the opening parts of it are legitimate to a point and were passed down from Noah on through to someone who had them later, and added fiction to it. I cannot endorse it as the Word of God without seriously questioning the entire process whereby we determine what is Canon and what is not. Is the 66 books of the Bible a hard and fast number endorsed by God? I think it probably is--and/or has been up though now.
There are some things in Enoch that show it cannot be steadfastly immutable as truth, whereas our 66 books of Scripture, I believe we can trust steadfastly.
I believe it is written in approximately 5 portions. It is possible that one or more of these portions may be legitimately written by Enoch, and the rest added to. Also, if it (or any portion of it) were to be accepted as Scripture, it would be subject to all the rules that Scripture is subject to. That means it would be infallible. If it is not infallible, it is not canonical. However the question might arise as to whether some of these things may have some legitimate bearing without being infallible, without being directly inspired by God, or without ALL of it being so.
Several problems I have:
The entire book seems to act as if Satan does not exist. There is no reference to him, and all the blame for the evil done is cast off on other bad guys. I can't imagine such an evil empire arising on the earth without Satan being highly involved with it.
Enoch is taken into the heavens to see the secrets of the atmosphere. These secrets are revealed to be very childish and superstitious compared to what we know from science and from Scripture. Now if it had all been very poetic and symbolic in nature, that might have bee fine, but the book puts these things forth as explanations of the truth of the matter, revealing the atmospheric secrets of weather phenomena.
The sizes given for the giants are scientifically untenable. It might be possible for humanoid giants to obtain the size of a T-Rex or even the weight of a brachiosaur, but the giants in Enoch are reputed to be up to 1,000 feet tall. Blue whales, which can be up to 100 feet long, or a little longer, have to be in the water to support their great weight. We are to understand these giants to be living, breathing individuals with organically alive bodies (requiring food) and for a giant to be that big, or anything like, is not scientifically possible. Even if the earth's gravity were not nearly so intense in that day (I have heard suggestions of this) it couldn't be lower than, maybe, about half what it is today, or certain other things would not function properly.

This is a website I have found that shows a lot of evidence, for the young earth, creation, the flood, ancient technology, and giants. I will point out that I do not believe that everything on this website is true. However, the compiler of the website also does not claim that it is all true. All he claims is that he has compiled everything he could find in these categories and documented the articles and sources, regardless of whether it is possible to prove them true or not. s8int.com/s8int-home/categories.htm

Thank you for providing the link, watchmanjim! A long time ago, this was one of my favorite websites, and when I moved and changed Internet Service and so on, I lost my favorites list and couldn't remember the name of the website, so I haven't seen it in quite some time. I'm so glad to find it again!

I think it's definitely a possibility. Definitely there will come a time when the Son of Man will appear in heaven and unbelievers on the earth will see Him. I see some very strong Scriptural evidence for keeping the seals/trumpets/vials all within the 70th Week, which would place this appearance near or at Christ's physical return.
However, I also see some hints in the text that the 6th/7th seals could possibly be related to the beginning of the Trib and the rapture. I'm not convinced, but I see it as a possibility.

Wow! I wonder where the photos of the giant footprints were taken (see the 19:45 and 20:10 marks). Great video, watchmanjim!
