For those of you praying, just want to say that there's been a little miracle here-- I've been looking outside and checking the water levels all day. The water has been over the curb and halfway up the driveway. We had a couple of dry hours and the level never decreased an inch that I could tell. Then another band hit and I'm thinking it's about time to start hauling essentials upstairs. So another relative that I haven't heard from today got in touch and I told her things were fine so far but that the street was flooded and the rain was coming down in buckets. Hit the send button, then went back to the window to see just how close it's gotten to the door. *My street is clear*-- Clear as in, no standing water, no flooding, nothing, nada. !!! There's no reason for that in the natural! I was on the phone, rejoicing with my daughter trying to come up with some reason that another 4-5" of rain isn't on my front step and she's like, "O-o-o-r-r-- the earth really did open up it's mouth and help you out." Gotta love my kids Thank you for standing with us in prayer! God is good!

An update on the situation! Father God, protect our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in the area where the flooding is occurring in Jesus' name!

Good morning, mike! It appears the name Livingston means "Leving's Town." The name Leving means "dear" or "beloved" or "son of the beloved one."

Ok...reason I was asking is there is a thread about Jared Kushner. I was responding in that thread last night and what I wrote didnt seem to be applicable so I didnt post it. Perhaps this is why? I am from north Jersey. I grew up in the town next to Livingston and have lived there the last 8 yrs. Kushner is from (born & raised) Livingston...when i first heard about his heritage and his possible connection to Chabad/Lubavitch I felt ill. Dont mean to derail, sorry

Short answer is, I am great. My street is now dry and for the last 24 hours it's staying clear. Considering that yesterday morning, I thought it was time to start moving the furniture upstairs, that's just amazing. This morning if you look outside my house, you'd think the news was about another country or something. My kids all checked in this morning. The devastation in Katy is unbelievable. They're saying some of those homes that flooded last night when they opened that damn will have water inside for 2 months. That is unheard of. One of my kids lives in Katy with a newborn and she said the water came up in about 30 minutes but it never entered her home. This morning her street is clear again. Another lives in Mid-town and her street is also clear. People are being rescued by boat all around her. She and her friends are hearing stories from their network that will make your hair curl. They're about to take in an 87 year old who was rescued by boat last night and her cat Okay so here's the thing-- yesterday, the water was rising and rising. In a thread above, you'll see that Tiffany and I were both talking about the scripture of the flood coming out of the dragon's mouth and the earth opening it's mouth to save the woman. Well, I decided to take that one to the Lord and just start asking the earth to open it's mouth and help us out around here. I mean if we're acting out some type of end times scenario, why not? Sure wasn't going to hurt anything. About an hour later in the middle of a downpour, my street clears, I'm praising God and go back to checking the news. This morning, my daughter tells me that her boyfriend's mother told her that the only reason her house didn't flood is that a *sinkhole* opened up on Beltway 8 and drained the water near their house. She sent me the video. A sinkhole! I checked the timing and it corresponded to when my street drained, maybe an hour or so beforehand which would be real close to when we were praying. It's also near my house-- I am right by Beltway 8, about 2 miles north of the location. The boyfriend's mom said she's hearing from her friends that sinkholes are opening all around town. Now isn't that something. If there's a way to post a video, let me know and I'll let you guys see it By the way, the boyfriend and his entire family are believers, praying folks who love the Lord. They believe this is miraculous. I haven't heard one report of people that I know are walking with the Lord getting flooded-- I'm not saying that no Christians are going through this trial, just that there ate many, many reports of people I personally know who should be flooded out but are still dry.

Also, I'm familiar with the Trinity River area and the Livingston dam but haven't heard a report this morning. Lived out that way for a decade. There's plenty of high ground but lots and lots of lowland around there. Liberty, TX (there's another one of those names again) is extremely low-- it's on the low side of the river. The whole town could wash away. From reports I was getting when this first started, they were already seeing high water and Dayton, TX (which is on the *high* side was seeing their worst flooding in memory.
I'll see if I can get in touch with a couple of people that still live that way.
