Hurricane Harvey

Thank you-- much appreciated! I lived about 10 miles north of Baytown at that time and it was a disaster. We were cleaning up for months. But we stayed then because we were the highest spot around so no problems with storm surge and the place was built like a bunker. I laid awake all night and listened to the tornados circling my house. Literally. The next morning, the trees were broken off about 15 feet from the ground and laid down in a circular pattern around the house like so many fallen dominos.

I'm on the other side of Houston now, but I've been here on the coast for decades-- always careful to move to high ground and, honestly, no place else to go. My kids are all grown and out so it's just me and I'm a school nurse so if things get bad, I'll backstroke over to the local shelter and help out. It's just a couple of blocks from here. Might have to dodge an alligator or two, but no worries. The big problem in Houston is going to be flooding and this thing is HUGE. There's no guarantee you won't evacuate to an area that will get more water than you.

At the risk of being long winded, I'm actually *excited* about this one. I've prayed through and know I'm suppose to stay put. I've seen the hand of the Almighty protect and preserve and save before during the other storms. I feel like David who said he saw God deliver the bear and the lion into his hand so what's a Cat 3 hurricane?

 I know there's prophetic significance--- there's also a duality. What brings judgement to the wicked brings glory to His people. While I see this as another sign that could indicate judgement, it's also a picture of overcoming power. The wind indicating the Holy Spirit, His people ready and prepared for battle.

We've got a Lion come back for us this time around

It's now a Cat 4.

There's a lot going on here. I'm glad the main fury of the storm passed by Corpus Christi (aka "The Body of Christ") without doing the kind of damage it could have. They still have damage there, but nothing like it might have been. There's also the town of Victoria nearby-- Victory, anybody?

I hope I'm not off base to think this is a sign that reminds us that though the Body of Christ (We, His saints) look like we're threatened by the giant storm (that nobody saw coming), we will be taken out of the way at the last minute. Does anybody else see this?

It is what I see also.

Another thing I have thought about: I know this is not over yet because of all the rain still expected. Just like with Nineveh though, and how they got many warnings (not just the eclipse). They didn't repent until they got the warning from Jonah. And so I view this as another warning. It could have been so much worse. Next time, if America does not repent, it will be. 

It may not be a hurricane and could be any number of things (God's Judgement). He is sending warning after warning to us. It's just that I truly don't think America will repent like Nineveh did. Even most Christians are blind to what is happening all around them, not heeding God's Warnings. 

It's almost like people look at this hurricane; any of this kind of thing...  and the 24/7 cycle the news has become; not for "news", not for reporting facts and then finished...  but a television show that never ends. Entertainment. You know how all the talkshows were so popular back in the 1990's? Montel Williams, Ricki Lake, Jerry Springer, and show after show after show of drama. Who is the father of this child? Or take a lie detector test live on tv so everyone can know did this man/lady really cheat on their spouse or not? Drama, drama, drama. SIN. 

Well, the "news" is no longer news. It's the same as one of those talk shows. It never ends and it is definitely not unbiased fact reporting. Everyone has an agenda. It's a business to make money, not to report current events. What draws ratings, what draws money into their pocketbooks....  drama and sin. The "news" salivates over events such as Hurricane Harvey. In reality they could care less about people, about their well being, about the loss of life, about anything BUT the money flowing into their bank accounts. 

I don't think any of them will repent. In fact, it is the opposite. They wish for it. More drama, more sin, more doom! 

And the day after, if the damage isn't as bad as they have hyped it up to be, it's almost like you can literally feel their disappointment. Because if it isn't catastrophic and apocalyptic, regular 'ol people, they tune out and go on with their lives. And then...  the "news" goes looking for the next one... the next thing that could possibly mean doom, death, suffering.

It's like the movie "The Hunger Games". The regular 'ol people thrive off seeing other people experience persecution, suffering, and death. A fictional movie isn't good enough. They want it to be REAL (as long as it is not them that is the "show"). And the MSM, the "news", they are doing nothing more than catering to the masses, giving them what they want, on the lookout for drama and doom to feed to the hungry people. If there is nothing, they MAKE SOMETHING themselves to feed the people with.

Stir the pot. Divide the nation and the world. Instigate race wars. Cause arguments between people and between Nations. Start wars. Doesn't matter...  whatever it is...  whatever it takes so they can keep adding money to their bank accounts. Then spend it on some bunker where they think they will be able to escape the doom and the apocalypse that they themselves have created. 

And the regular 'ol people who thrive off of what they are fed and are hungry for more, more, more. Eventually... it's them. Their number comes up in the lottery. They become part of "the show" and find themselves playing, active participants, in "The Hunger Games". 

So, nope, I don't see this country repenting. I pray for them, pray for us. 

You know what they say....  Be careful what you wish for.

People who play this game, they are GOING TO LOSE. NO ONE will be able to control or manipulate God's Wrath when He Comes. And those whom have spent so long wishing for doom, instigating doom, perpetuating doom...  they are going to get their wish...  and it is going to be much more than they ever bargained for. That bunker is not going to save them. Only those who know Jesus, or whom turn to Jesus will be saved. 

Gotta love how people are... how they blame all the bad in the world on God. Morons. What is happening in reality, God has HIS HAND over this world and He is Holding Back what our own actions have brought about. He is not doing anything to us. WE ARE. He's keeping us from completely destroying ourselves and this planet we live on. His Judgement... He doesn't even have TO DO anything; EXCEPT take His Hand Away. 

He'll do that, and the idiots down here on earth will look up, and will blame Him. 

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

I am praying for God to be glorified and lives changed because of this storm.
