Ok, there have been these Jubilee theories floating around, that perhaps Rosh Hashana is supposed to occur at te Feast of Atonement in a Jubilee year. The supporting scriptural text is purported to be Ezekiel 40, where in Hebrew it says "Rosh Hashana" for the translated phrase "beginning of the year" and it occurs in the 10th day of the 7th month, which would be the Feast of Atonement. Here is an article that supports the idea that the year was indeed a Jubilee. ourdailydrink.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/ezekiels-jubilee-in-576-bce-2/I've read several articles about the jubilee and I don't remember which one says what, so give me some time to continue to develop this discussion out. I can't remember if the above article discusses this, but the issue I see is that ROSH HASHANA is not the same as FEAST OF TRUMPETS. Just because Rosh Hashana may move to the 10th of the month doesn't mean the Feast of Trumpets follows. God specifically says in Leviticus when Feast of Trumpets is to occur—at the first day of the 7th month, and the first days of months were determined by sighting the new moon. Rosh Hashana just means "Head of the Year" like when the year changes on the calendar from 5777 to 5778. PERHAPS this year, IF it is a Jubilee (and a pretty good but still unconfirmed case could be made that it is) then the year doesn't change until Feast of Atonement. But this would have no influence on Feast of Trumpets. There's no reason the two must occur at the same time all the time. Anyway, bear with me as I search this out and try to find the places where I read this. Or if you find something, please SHARE!

Thank you Missus Mack -
Anytime there seems to be a conflict of scripture - there is a nugget that God is trying to share. I look forward to new understanding!

One thought I'm having: if Rosh Hashana doesn't occur until the Feast of Atonement on the year Jubilee is proclaimed, that means a Jubilee year would NEVER have the 10 days of Awe, which is judgment on Israel. The year of Jubilee would end on Tishri 1 the following year, when Rosh Hashana would revert back to being at the same time as Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets). This makes sense because the year of Jubilee is the year of the Lord's Favor. Having judgment of Israel occur during a Jubilee just doesn't make sense (unless God is being ironic, but since this is serious, I doubt that). So, I would suggest that whenever the Tribulation does occur, none of those years can be a Jubilee year. Since it seems very likely that the Tribulation is going to start very soon, it seems likely the Jubilee year has recently occurred and may in fact be 5777 or will occur the first year of Christ's Messianic kingdom. But if we are looking at the Jubilee STARTING right now, I just don't know... That doesn't seem to make sense to me. Not unless the Trib also doesn't start.

It was Hamrick where I got some more information. Backtracking with my current brain is hard to do (I'm just exhausted!)! This Jubilee thing was just a rabbit hole I went down and didn't really think much of it once I was satisfied.

I think it would end at Tishri 1 the following year, when it would be Rosh Hashana and Feast of Trumpets together again.

My own personal thought is that the 120th Jubilee (year 6,000) will occur at the end of the tribulation. I've seen a number of articles that talked about this and it makes sense to me. But I don't see any way of proving when a Jubilee should be since Israel never kept the Jubilees.

In fact I have not found the 10 days of awe anywhere prescribed by God. I only see it as a tradition of man that has been inserted, however there is no biblical reference to it. I was trying to do day counts that would begin on August 21 and kept trying to figure in the 10 days that could not find it anywhere in the Bible. Further investigation showed them to just to be tradition.

Yes, truthseeker, the tradition vs prescribed by God aspect has been a major discussion throughout the forum in regard to the Feasts. The very reason why Feast of Trumpets sounds like a rapture Feast is because of traditions associated with it. What God gave us in scripture doesn't describe the feasts very much (especially not Yom Teruah), and for the most part all we really know about them are the traditions. So, it's definitely a gray area. However, we know Jesus referenced the Jewish tradition of marriage where the bridegroom would go away and prepare rooms at his father's house then come "kidnap" his bride when his father said it was time. And when He said, "know man knows the day or the hour, only the father", that that was a common bridegroom idiomatic answer when asked when he'd get to collect his bride. It was potentially also an idiomatic expression for the Feast of Trumpets. So it's hard to know whether God gave the traditions but didn't have it put in scripture (there are some instances of verses relating to something said that is not found in the bible) or if the traditions are man-made. But I would also suggest, that just because a tradition is man-made doesn't mean God can't or won't use it, but that doesn't mean He will use EVERY man-made tradition if He does use some. So, yep, very, very gray.

Only thing about ten days that comes to mind truthseekerRev 2:10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

So Jesus stands up in the synagogue one sabbath and proclaims the first verse and first clause of the second verse. When does the second clause of the second verse get proclaimed? At the beginning of the day of vengeance or at the end? This passage seems to be about the Jubilee. In that case, it sounds to me like the jubilee will be AFTER the Day of Vengeance.
Isaiah 61
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. 5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. 7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. 8 “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. 9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed.” 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. .
