Two of my favorite parables in Matthew:
Matt 13:44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it."
Jesus gave His life to purchase the world (field) for the treasure that was in it (believers). The Church is like the pearl. A pearl grows slowly, hidden under water - like the church growing among the nations. A pearl cannot be cut or divided (like diamonds or rubies). And Christ died for the church - a pearl of great price.

I love when we can see things from the OT in the New.
Matthew 14:25-27 And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" and they cried our in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid."
This was more evidence that He was God. Only God could walk on water. Job 9:7-9 says of God, it is He "Who commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars; who alone stretched our the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea; who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the chambers of the south"
Jesus also uses the phrase "ego eimi" which is most often translated as "I am" (here is says "it is I".) One commentary on this that I read says that when Jesus uses this phrase without a predicate it is pointing to His deity. (So, for example, He uses it when He says "I am the light of the world," the focus is on the predicate - that He is the light - not on the "ego eimi".) So, also John 8:58 and John 18:5-8.

Matthew 15:35-37 And directing the crowd to sit down on the ground, He took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks He broke them and gave them to His disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over.
The Prophet greater than Moses fed the people bread. But here is the contrast - Moses could not give the people bread by his own power but Jesus could because He is God.

Micah 5:4-5
And he shall stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they shall dwell secure, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth. And He shall be their peace.

What a day this will be:
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14

each morning: Psalm 90 14:-17 14 O satisfy us early with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory unto their children. 17 And let the beauty of The Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

1 Chronicles 16:28-34
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!” Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!

We sang this hymn today. Got a little emotional thinking about seeing Him soon.

We also sang a hymn probably based on the following Scripture:
Worth is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. Rev 5:12

For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is God!), who formed the earth and made it (He established it: He did not create it empty, He formed it to be inhabited!): "I am the LORD, and there is no other. I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, 'Seek me in vain.' I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right. Isaiah 45:18-19

Psalm 103:11-14
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

Growing up, we would sing a song at church camp based on this passage:
2 Samuel 22:2-4 He [David] said, The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; You save me from violence. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
David sang this after God had delivered him from his enemies. Truthfully, we may see violence and not be saved from our enemies, so I don't want to focus on that part but more on all the descriptions of who God is for the believer.

continuing with part of David's song: 2 Samuel 22:17-20
He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He rescued me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support. He brought me out into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.
I think that many who have been through rough times can rejoice like David when God brings them through it. We may not be surrounded by enemies, but there are seasons that we can feel like we are in deep water needing rescued.

more from David's song 2 Samuel 22:26-31
With the merciful You show yourself merciful; with the blameless man You show yourself blameless; with the purified You deal purely, and with the crooked You make yourself seem tortuous. You save a humble people, but Your eyes are on the haughty to bring them down. For You are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.
