It's my very story that offends peeps. I totally understand too and don't fault them at all. In my case, these are people who have seen me over many years and over those years I had the opportunity to share and expose my deepest secrets in public of how he guided me through prisons I was rejected early in life by my mother who broke my bones when I was months old and was locked in a room most of my early childhood. So I would relate to the orphans how God had healed me of that or later in life when my step mother forced my dad to choose between myself and her and he chose her. I don't fault my dad at all on that but that's another thing I talked about. And I could relate to the innocent in prison because the only reason I was in one was because my dad signed me over and committed me as incorrigible. So altogether, I spent 3 years in prisons for basically being unwanted and no one would take me. So I have a rich background and for years the band I was in played schools and prisons all over Hong Kong as well as working with churches. In addition, we were also very well known and we did many interviews and weee a top band for those 6 years. All that time I have detailed an intimate relationship with the Father that at that time was more stories. My friends who should have been more accepting are now disbelieving He could actually be exactly like the way I described him for years. I understand it. That's why I say we are on different levels because what's happening in my heart now is beyond description. I wouldn't lie or come here to impress. I've been living a life of Adam all my life and I really didn't think I was special. I still don't. I just think He displays a side of him that I am supposed to reveal. But it insults the egos and rattles nerves. I think the cornerstone that was rejected was the humanity of Jesus. This wouldn't be such a surprise if we saw him a bit more like us. Eventually we'll see him as he is and I believe he'll be a lot more like us than we thought

thanks for your unique perspective Jerry...I am not offended by your story but it helps paint a picture of you and your experience, how God has allowed certain things to shape you into what/who you are today. As you seemingly are aware many of us here follow the bible and the God we know from the word there. That is the whole bible. Which we can agree to disagree about for now should you chose to hang around and have any type of meaningful discussions. Some of the folks here have a background that you have made assumptions about, however some do not. While others that have that background are here because of that background and do not adhere to many of the teachings of the "church" at large.
There are other who feel that their relationship with the Father is beyond words and expression at this time. Please dont cast stones at those who've you now taken a minute to get to know and see if in fact they are on your level or not. You simply dont know all things

And I would just add to what Mike said...Personally, I am always concerned that on these forums, so many things are discussed that may be outside the traditionally accepted core of Christian doctrine. Now this is fine for those who have been following Jesus for many years and are solidly grounded in truth. Each of us is responsible to know God's word and to keep it, and we are instructed to work out our salvation in fear and trembling.
But I worry about the babe in Christ. The one who met Jesus yesterday in child like faith. They don't have the benefit of many years studying the word and being rooted deep in Christian doctrine.
I worry that these "newbies" will read things that they cannot rectify by reading scripture. I worry that they will read something that sends them down a rabbit hole...a dead end...a false teaching.
It would be better for one to have a millstone tied around his neck and be cast into the sea than to lead one of these little ones astray. Can we agree on that?

Of course. That's why I haven't gone to all the threads and answered questions. I'm not at all here to debate and my personal belief is that doesn't matter. I do hurt for you because of my convictions with Rev. In spite of us being on opposite sides we aren't on the one thing we really can agree on. That Gods love is immense. By all means only listen for that. If my guess is right, it won't be hard to change your perspectives and specially if the HS comes like I believe She will and already is. No matter what, it's an exciting time. I was told clearly over 45 years ago something like this was coming. That I have a specific purpose. I even mentioned it to my fiancée before we got married that I had a sense of calling. Over the years I began to doubt but it never went away, that nagging feeling. I am much further along in this process now of learning to actually function as a walking temple. There are practical things and hurdles just like Jesus hinted at. I totally get it. Eventually you will be able to learn from me as well as others not of the same exact faith. It really is a beautiful picture and you have a lot of it but you're missing parts of the puzzle. It's ok though. Religion has tired you up in knots. Wasn't meant to be so complicated. I respect your wishes.

... If my guess is right, it won't be hard to change your perspectives and specially if the HS comes like I believe She will and already is. Jerry, A couple of things about this statement gives me pause. First, nowhere in scripture does it say the holy spirit is a She as you have stated. You even capitalized she to bring attention to it. In fact Jesus said just the opposite. John 14:16-18 16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. Second, I'm not sure what you mean by if the holy spirit comes as if it is a yet coming event. For those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, the holy spirit is already here in them. The Holy Spirit indwells within each of us that have accepted Jesus in to our hearts and minds and know him as our personal Savior. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is when the spirit of God takes up permanent residence in the body of a believer in Jesus Christ. Jesus revealed to His disciples this new role the Spirit of Truth would play in their lives in the scripture above. These verses are telling us that the believer in Jesus Christ has the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, living in him. This can only be done through Jesus. John 14:6-7 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” Jerry, Do you believe these words from God? Have you accepted Jesus, not as your equal, but as your personal Lord and Savior?

jerryh So I'm looking at your first couple posts on this thread and trying to clarify your thinking here... You are claiming that the Mark of the Beast is accepting Jesus? You are claiming that 666 is the perfect man aka Jesus Christ? And you are claiming that the wounded head talked about in Revelation is the modern Christian church?

Yes to all three. As far as She, Sophia is the original term and I believe it's feminine in nature. But why are you still asking me these questions? I said I would respect your rules so why bait me into breaking them? Good bye already. I didn't come here to waste time trying to convince you of anything but to give my take on Rev which unfortunately I wanted to help ease the transistion but you all are much too worried about what happened back then and are totally oblivious to what is under your nose. Since we can't seem to get along I will leave you to figure out the rest. No wonder we were driven from the garden. You've all been militarized against each other armed with the Word

Sophia is the supposed personification of God’s wisdom, not the Holy Spirit.

Whatever. If you were touched by her you would unmistakably feel her feminine like nurturing love. I don't need to discuss this really trivial point but no I don't get my knowledge from the Shack if that's what you're implying.

Well, the Holy Spirit is NOT a she. Plain and simple. Got Questions addresses this and cites several scripture references to back it up here: www.gotquestions.org/Holy-Spirit-gender.html But to copy the main point in the thread... "In the end, whatever our theological explanation, the fact is that God used exclusively masculine terms to refer to Himself and almost exclusively masculine terminology even in metaphor. Through the Bible He taught us how to speak of Him, and it was in masculine relational terms. So, while the Holy Spirit is neither male nor female in His essence, He is properly referred to in the masculine by virtue of His relation to creation and biblical revelation. There is absolutely no biblical basis for viewing the Holy Spirit as the “female” member of the Trinity." Scripture is the final authority on this.

I just laugh at how twisted up in scriptures people get. You need flow charts to explain exactly how your version of things are. To get so hung up in gender. What is it about the feminine nature of the Divine that frightens you? Isn't it strange you also crush the feminine voices in many of your churches. There is a Feminine side to Him that has been hidden. She lives in the hearts and jungles of indigenous tribes and they know Her as Mother Earth. She is the essence of love but you've only seen glimpses of her. She is so lovely and the most beautiful thing I know. she resists the proud though so that could be part of your problem. Either way, my personal experiences way trump your little quibble over pronouns. My God feels like a mother I never had and then some sometimes. Other times he's that wise gentle Father caressing all the while pouring love in every ounce of my body. Then other times it's just pure affectionate love all over for hours. But I'm sure you got that and are way beyond that .. really I don't care ok.

Jerry, I've tried to be really nice and not attack you. And I am not an admin or moderator here, but I have to believe you are just about to run out of rope.
If scripture is not important to you, then I have to believe your god is a cult god, and no god at all.
True Christ followers do not get "twisted up in scripture"...we know this:
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17
You would do well to study it and quit thinking the goosebumps you get are the Holy Spirit. Obviously, it is not. The Holy Spirit never, ever says anything to us that is not 100% aligned with scripture. Never!
Consider for a minute that the voice in your head is not God, but Satan deceiving you.

jerryh We'd like for you to be able to stick around and have further discussions but you are in fact breaking a couple of our rules here. Both 1&3. If you aren't familiar here is a link to them.

Well if you keep taking issues over the littlest things then it's really you who has the bigger problem. All I am pointing out is your culture which you freely admit. You take issue with my interpretation of Rev and because you have no argument for what I'm saying you find something else. I keep trying to not come back because obviously my choice of pronouns are hurting gentle ears. I'll really try not to come back. Can the mods please close this thread or I'll delete all my comments everywhere here. You're of course welcome to do that for you. Good luck.

I've pretty much destroyed your whole theory completely and I did it under extreme duress under penalty of possible suspension for using my phone while I bake your Oreo cookies. It's a total labor of love though. At least I get to keep my day job. You on the other hand have much bigger problems than pronouns. Maybe you should set aside a heretic allowed sub forum because this won't work for me either.
