I started being a serious watcher for Christ's return about 6 years ago. One of the things that got my attention was things happening that hadn't happened before or for long periods of time. So this is the first total eclipse to hit the most active two month period in 50 years. And if the shadow can hit a hurricane, that's kind of cool.

Very "Cool" indeed...Not sure how possible it would be but the shadow will cause temps to drop about 20*. I know storms like this feed off warm moisture. How crazy would it be if were a category 3 and the shadow caused it to downgrade? EDIT - seems water surface temp should be 79-82...how much would the shadow cause it to drop? Probably not much or not enough but anything is possible when God is showing us our final warning signs!!

I believe this is something serious we need to pay attention to. If a big earthquake happens like i think it will, then wouldn't a hurricane or and a tsunami be completely possible?

Hurricane is already forming in eastern Atlantic and to my knowledge earthquakes have little to nothing to do with hurricanes. Tsunami's would/could be triggered by earthquakes among other things

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I believe this is something serious we need to pay attention to. If a big earthquake happens like i think it will, then wouldn't a hurricane or and a tsunami be completely possible? Ok The sharknado comment was good However, solar eclipses impact ocean tides significantly. With all the rumbling going on at Yellowstone (full of hot liquid mantle and water pockets deep in the ground), now in multiple California earthquakes (being described as ready to erupt at any moment and the magma is at their roots), and the New Madrid fault, and the waters of the deep being recently discovered by Japan (under the whole entire earth, with an estimated amount of water that is 10 times more than our current oceans), now a hurricane is forming in the Atlantic ocean that will also be in the eclipse path on the east coast. I also mean this in all seriousness, talk about the perfect possible storm of chaos. Anyone who can look at this and not see it as a warning is deeply troubling to me. Not saying anything will happen, but the things that are happening are very out of the norm as with everything else surrounding this time.

I haven't heard yet about the Japan discovery, cwood85! Can you share some links to information about it? I'd love to know more!

Thank you for linking socialexile. I'm here at the beach in SC right now, in North Myrtle and a little bit north of the path of totality. I was just now looking at the sun with my eclipse sunglasses and looked like a yellow circle (of course), then like some yellow kind of rays shooting out from it, then it gradually got covered by clouds and now is completely covered and can't see anything. We got here yesterday and around 5pm yesterday got one heck of a thunderstorm... VERY loud, lightening everywhere flashing, definitely enough to make me jump every time I heard another clap of thunder. Before the storm actually hit, was like a constant rumble of thunder for 1/2 an hour straight, and gradually got windy, but was a constant rumble of the thunder and very sunny as it was rumbling. It's been sunny and hot all day but right now very low and dark clouds coming in, getting windy again, looking like we may get a storm again like yesterday. We plan on watching the eclipse from here on our balcony tomorrow. I'm excited (though in a different way than the world is... not like a huge party or celebration; but excited to see this sign God is sending to us which I personally believe to be a warning; certainly not a cause for some drunken celebration like I think most of the rest of America will be doing tomorrow). I'm also a little scared... But I have prayed and I know that Jesus will protect us. I'm obviously hoping for no hurricanes or tsunamis due to our current location (lol)!
