Fortunately, God has given us the engineering dimensions of the New Jerusalem so we can do an engineering feasibility study to see if the biblical claims about the New Jerusalem are reasonable. An engineering feasibility study is a way of getting a better feel for a new idea to see if the claims it makes are reasonable. You take what limited information that you are given and you apply known laws of science, mathematics, historical records, and conservative assumptions from which you can derive an estimate of how reasonable a new idea is. The New Jerusalem claims to be able to provide the experience of paradise for eternity for at least 20 billion people. Lets do an analysis to see how crowded the New Jerusalem will be – in other words what will the population density (people per square mile) be in the New Jerusalem? Interesting study! I never doubted that God could fit us all into the New Jerusalem, with or without changing the laws of physics. Let's not forget that in addition to all the saints (and I daresay, perished babies from the dawn of time), there are also the angels of the Lord to undoubtedly share New Jerusalem with us. Something tells me that with God designing this place, it will be an ongoing marvel of everything great and awesome-- with all kinds of testimonies to His greatness at every hand.

Yes!! Can't wait to get there myself!! I have pretty strong inclination that we can't even begin to imagine how incredible heaven is going to be.

neat that someone took the time to figure it out. So looking forward to stepping into that city!

Mr. Daily went with city being a cube, I also heard it might be pyramid in shape.
Still the miles 1500 miles in length, width and height floor me....
That is going to be one honking big city!

The city is so large, that, under today's physics, the upper levels would disintegrate! So, God will literally change physics! Cool, huh?

Either He will change physics (which He can clearly do) or He will unleash secrets of physics that we are not aware of!

Just as a passing thought ........ Having a height of 1500 miles -- should/could/would means at least 30000 floors (assuming a half mile per floor -- even more if each floor is only 1/4 mile) Can you imagine trying to reach the top floor -- without special abilities to transport yourself........

I think we'll be able to fly, and quite possibly at very fast speeds if we wish. Not to mention, I'm not sure that time will be a relevant concept anymore by that point.

I think we'll be able to fly, and quite possibly at very fast speeds if we wish. Not to mention, I'm not sure that time will be a relevant concept anymore by that point. That is a very good point, at that time we will be "IN Eternity" - so TIME will not mean anything .... I find that concept hard to grasp! BUT, if you think about it -- even our language would need to change -- as it stands now our language is time specific -- with past tense, future tense, present tense.... Hmmm.... how would we say -- "hey anyone want to come with me to catch that new birth of a star?"

In the same way that a single geometric line is, erm, "linear," so too, our current mode of speech or writing is linear. Perhaps our speech by that time will be multidimensional. (TMS. Too Much Speculation).

I greatly enjoyed that study. I've spent several days just imagining what it might be like. It will be amazing!

I agree boymaker - it's amazing to think about the New Jerusalem like this. This is one of the first things I read when I joined Unsealed, and I often think about it. Even the name makes me smile😊 However, I still find it very difficult to imagine a world without the ocean/sea. It just doesn't make any sense in my head... I guess it'll make sense when we see it for ourselves.
