So it ended up being a 7.3 and I checked the database of biggest quakes and it's the biggest in the Middle East in 5 years and the biggest in Iraq in RECORDED HISTORY. 4 hours and 5 minutes later a 5.8 struck Japan. 4 hours and 4 minutes after the Japanese quake a 6.5 struck Costa Rica. California was struck with a 4.7 a few hours ago. Directly on land. ^^^ Double checked the time, about an hour ago.

Seems Mt. St. Helen may be possibly waking up. Lots of swarm activity around the volcano and a 3.9 yesterday just a few miles away. If anyone lives around there or has family/friends in Washington, be on alert. A lot of seismic activity in that area in recent months.

St. Helens in 1995 when I was a little girl with my Aunt who used to live there. What a sight to see! It looked like we were on a different planet.

Very active today...big, big earthquakes in Burma (6.0) and Iraq. 57 M2.5+ in the past 24 hours as I write this. 25 - 35 is pretty normal as I've observed the past 6 months or so. USGS map
