Yardstick, are you suggesting maybe the 3rd Horseman introduces CHEAP food? Interesting thought.

Or perhaps mankind will only make the equivalent of about $2.14 for a day's wage...

This day and age -- where the rich become richer and the poor become poorer....... Having a college does not even guarantee that one can have a job that will support the typical family..... Now there need be "two Bread winners" -- for a family to survive.........

Dr. Walt Bramson seems to believe that "hurt not the oil and the wine" seems to indicate that the rich will not be much harmed by the economic collapse, but the poor will.

Here lately – I have been reading more in the OT ….
Anyway, there are multiple passages that talk of “foreigners, the fatherless, widows, and the poor”...
The majority of the time these groups appear in scripture – we are being told to help them (or not to neglect them). The other times these groups are mentioned; are when God is telling us He is angry because these people are being ignored and not taken care of.
Not sure how foreigners got lumped into this group; except to assume they are escaping something even worse from their homeland.

In OT Israel, the foreigners who came to dwell among them were to be accepted into society and taught the ways of God. They were not to be enslaved, shunned, or abused simply because they were not Israelites. But some people tended to be bigoted and prejudiced against foreigners or non-ethnic dwellers in the land, and this was against the instructions of God.
