One thing to remember is that Satan will be locked up for the millennium. So whatever technology is available, and in use, he won't be allowed to use it for deception. I tend to believe that after the catastrophic events of the great tribulation, that the world will be in rough shape, and infrastructure and technology will need to be rebuilt. Scripture does seem to indicate that armageddon is fought with horses rather than tanks and planes, so this could mean that modern weapons don't work for some reason, or it could mean that the resources needed to fuel and arm them are not available for some reason. In any case there will be people who enter into the millennium with the knowledge to rebuild and restore technology to the earth, but it will take a long time. Like others have noted, Jesus will reign and rule over the nations, so whatever they do to rebuild will be guided and ruled over by Him. I wonder if the rebuilding of it all has any implications corresponding to Satan's release at the end of the thousand years? He will gather the nations, those descended from Gog and Magog to make war on the saints, but God will make a swift end of them. Would rebuilt infrastructure and technology be a factor in Satan's ability to deceive the nations again? Just wondering. There is some indication that modern tech could be still around, but described in ancient terms. For instance, the Jews will flee to the wilderness "on wings of eagles", which I take to mean aircraft: Edit - Revelation 12:14: There are"messengers" in Revelation 14:6-8 that fly through mid-heaven (2nd heaven? As in space?) that proclaim: These sound like satellites to me, or at least radio broadcasts, broadcasting the gospel, which means that people will still have technology to receive the messages. Makes me wonder if some crazy pre-tribber has something hooked up to a dead man switch, to go off after the rapture . Also, automobiles are a "horse" of sorts...an iron horse. One of the Hebrew words for "chariot" is merkava.....this is is a Merkava IV ...which tactically, is really an updated chariot since it serves the same role: Just something to consider at least.

Another pic if Israel's tank, because it's a good one, lol. Man that is a sexy aesthetically pleasing tank: BTW, while it's the best main battle tank in its role (defense and counter-insurgency in urban terrain), it can't fill the role that other MBTs are designed for (tank-on-tank mobile offensive combat) like the Abrams link.

Good points, socal, but you seem to refer to events taking place during the Tribulation, while the thread is actually about technology in the Millennial Kingdom, which is the time after the Tribulation.
We were speculating on how much technology our Lord Jesus, in His physical kingdom on the earth, will allow the inhabitants of the earth to retain and use during His 1,000-year reign.

I saw the word "Armageddon", lol. Well here's the thing, are we, or the Tribulation survivors, going to continue to till the earth and sweat per Adam's curse? And will those who come back with Christ remember how engineer and build these things? Will we interact that much with the survivors to share that knowledge? Or, will we be like Mary and Martha, where we sit at His feet for 1000 years, while they toil and become jealous? Might be a foreshadowing there that leads to the last fight and the eternal kingdom.

Watchmanjim
wrote a nice story about this time period....
i could see how some of the survivors would be jealous, if we had a lot of daily interaction with them.....
But they can also see Jesus - in the flesh ruling in Love and Fairness....

I don't see chapter and verse for it, but I have a feeling that our glorified bodies will not have the same drawbacks as our current ones, including in this regard... Teleportation? If we are no longer 4-dimensional beings, but 10 dimensional beings, I would bet we could go from point A to B instantaneously. That would sure make for a quick trip from anywhere in the world to Jerusalem for the feasts, wouldn't it? Can you imagine how long it would take to get from say, China, to Jerusalem via horse (and buggy)?

Mind you I never been to the Himalayas, but they are supposed to be several times bigger than the Rockies here in the States..... For the life of me, I cannot grasp how covered wagons crossed much of the Rockies -- without roads..... Even today with the two lane roads going through the Rockies -- the turns and steep grades going up and down -- is going to take some effort.........

Looks like Egypt, Assyria, and Israel will be the center of attention, according to Isaiah 19. I don't know for sure, but it seems that the earth's population will start out in Israel and settle out gradually to other regions as time goes on and the mortal population increases. Obviously, I'm not sure of the details.

I think we will have technology, but it will be limited to that we can't wreck more evil on ourselves. The internet? Sure! But pornography, drugs, and websites about evil things? No. Rockets? Yes. Ballistic Missiles? No. God wants us to explore and build and design; he just doesn't want us to harm each other and cause us to sin.

BUT If we really could travel great distances in a "blink of a eye" ...... what about a cabin over looking a mountain lake ..... Or a chance to explore the vast universe with the millions and millions of stars .....

I hope Jesus finds it good for all the little farmers to have little tractors and equipment. I've wanted to start a tractor company since I was six years old, and have many dreams about it, but it always seemed so impossible to break into that world.....

I honestly don't think we will have electricity and power. I kind of picture what happened with the exodus as a reality. I feel like Jesus would provide the food for the survivors of the tribulation, and the rest of us in glorified bodies, wont need food. I think the way of life that we got accustomed to would be gone forever. I don't really have anything supporting this, just my thoughts.

Just wondering the reason you state there will be no electricity and power? I could see no petro products -- like oil, gas, coal But electrical power seems it would be ok to me -- especially if it produced and used locally -- like solar / wind
