Work out your salvation with fear and trembling - means at your own development pace and WITH REVERENCE TO ALL THINGS WITH GOD. We do not grow/mature the same. We each have different understandings, gifts, lessons. And HE is the one doing it - working in us to WANT TO and CARRY THROUGH with the purposes of his good pleasure. IT'S ALL HIM! He's doing it all.
As far as what you think you are hearing, you might want to have your hearing checked. How about simply acknowledging what the New Testament has to say about works in the life of a believer? Gregt, please remember our Board Rules. Our 3rd rule states: Don't invalidate a fellow member's thoughts. It's okay to express a disagreement, but this should not be done along the lines of "You're just wrong" or "if you believed the Bible, then you would agree with me," etc.
Please, gregt, we truly would value your participation in our forum, and there is no cause for a quarrel. Brother, under our Lord's grace, we can have harmony amongst ourselves.

As a person who, because of the enormity of the impact of Rev. 12 in the Bible, would consider myself a "people pushing the Rev. 12", took your statement that 'no one is addressing the issue' as blasting me. I speak only for me.

Quick summary: The man child in Rev. 12 has been identified as a corporate body partially because of this passage: Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. The reasoning being this is addressed to the seven churches, and so it is not just Jesus exclusively having a rod of iron. I think the above is correct, but here is the problem. The rod of iron is clearly only given to them that overcome. If the 9/23/2017 date is correct, the only ones taking part in it will be overcomers.
As far as I can tell, no one is addressing this issue. Shouldn't the people pushing the Rev. 12 sign also be announcing that one has to be an overcomer in order to participate? That (the red part above) would be the blast Truthseeker is referring to. Gregt, your methods of interacting on this board are not compatible with the ground rules set by the administration. You are here debating (again) one of the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith-- Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone. We cannot force you to believe something, but we can stop you from distracting and confusing readers of our webpage with the false doctrine you seem to espouse. We have talked to you about this in the past, and please consider this your last warning. And yes, I am making it public so as to be unambiguous. We love you, and are concerned for you, but debating (as if there is any possibility they could be wrong) the key tenets of the faith, is not part of the ministry of this discussion board. There are plenty of other public venues where you can do that. |

I think we have failed here brothers and sisters!
Gregt simply brought up a challenge to look closely at what the scriptures state.
Whether Gregt is right or wrong makes no difference... A Brother, yes, someone who believes Yeshua died for our sins, has with courage come out to challenge our understandings...
And because we don't believe his concerns... we boot him?
This same thing is going on with everyone I know... I am bombarded with "christians" I know that are in direct opposition to the sign because of "this is astrology" or "no one knows the day or the hour"... we as believers are not in agreement here... we are falling apart!
I stand with Gregt, and regardless of whether he is right or wrong, ask that his status is restored immediately...
Please brothers and sisters... apologise, repent and forgive...

After re-reading this thread, I think I know what happened. Gregt was pushing faith + works = salvation. We know how that becomes messed up when properly scrutinized (gregt, if you are reading this, and can still direct message, I will be Happy to respectfully lay out my case).
However, we messed up. Emotions got high and a good disscution turned into a battlefield. Thus, I propose an unofficial rule; that whenever somebody shows up with a different theology, we treat them with loving-kindness, and try to lay down our case peacefully and respectfully. Since most people on this board will be Christ followers, we will be then able to have a peaceful conversation. I think if everyone kept this rule, we would have less incidences like this.
