The state of Illinois is nearly bankrupt. It could be the first state to go belly-up. Also, its City of Chicago is known for some of the worst gangster violence in the country at this time, with hundreds of murders per year and other violent crime. What if Illinois is the crux of America? What if it stands for everything and everyone else? What if Illinois is a picture of Egypt, and some of Isaiah 19's woes on Egypt are also reflected in Illinois?

Me too, watchmanjim! It will pass right over the top of my house in Oregon. By the way, all4himtim, the 1st eclipse starts over Oregon. Our capital city is Salem, and Salem is one of the hot spots here for viewing the eclipse. Hi Whatif, I just registered for this discussion board. I too am in Salem! Interesting tidbit.....Oregon is the 33rd State and South Carolina (end of eclipse) is at the 33 degree paralellel.

I haven't looked into that, but I read Gary's article and put together a list of the states the eclipse goes through and their meanings.
