I'm not sure why all the watching for the AC. Maybe its just me, but my understanding is that the 10 horns rise first out of this beast Kingdom and they make war with the lamb (Rev 17:14) before the AC comes into play and humbles 3 of them. If anyone is watching, watch for the 10 horn prerequisites.

You know, the common logic of Satan wanting the end times to happen as the preachers say runs so counter to common sense IMO. Why would he want to hasten his end? Seems to me he'd want to delay it, and would only enact it inadvertently because he was forced to do so. Maybe that's why the Deep State is trying to tank Trump?
Or, the whole narrative there is based on bad assumptions, like that Satan is something out of a horror movie instead of that which tries to be like the Most High?

He knows his time short. Perhaps unlike is more in tune with what is transpiring, realizing his time near its end, he is trying to destroy as many lives as possible. 2. If 1 has any merit, then him trying to be like the Most High would also fit in his deception. Many will fall for him saving them, but the elect will not be fooled.

So then he's just going to go along with it? I believe its a possibility. He knows his time is short. Since he knows, he also knows he cant change that. no? What is the alternative? Can he change what God has established? Again my assumptions are that he realizes his time near its end. Another piece that just occurred to me is that he is locked up for 1000 years and released for a short time. During that 1000 years do people (human - not clothed with immortality yet) still have a rebellious nature? My answer is yes, but I could be wrong. Point being, should satan try to delay this wouldnt the horrible sin nature of mankind continue to cause the time to come regardless?

Satan being locked up already for 1000 years is a amillennial belief. In pretrib Satan is locked up and released after Christ returns and rules.
My point remains: even if he sees it as an inevitability, and wanted to destroy people, then why would he go along with it?
The political battle in the US now is about righteousness. You have one side claiming to speak righteously while selling the country to the Red Dragon behind the scenes, and the other that they claim isn't speaking righteously yet is doing the opposite regardless of the cameras.

I suppose I didnt do a great job communicating my point. I was trying to use an analogy that when is satan is locked during the 1000 years, mankind will still have a rebellious nature. In any case I suppose I do not see your point. Are you saying satan sees his soon demise and would try to prolong the inevitable? I guess I'm failing to see that it would be possible, so I'm missing the point. I do see that both ends of the political spectrum are not righteous. One may appear somewhat, but ultimately is not and the other is not but many do not see it.

venge , socalexile , mike , I think, mike , the verse you are referring to is Rev. 12:12 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea; with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time." Which begs the question, Has satan been thrown down to the Earth yet?
Also, and this is pretty much speculation on my part, the nature of man is malleable. We tend to bend (without the Holy Spirit, that is) to what we perceive as right or true even when it's not. Satan told Eve 'you shall not surely die', an outright lie, but Eve believed it. Satan has been whispering, or yelling as the case may be, ever since and we've been listening. Now, imagine what the world will be like without his incessant evil will permeating the world! Those who have not yet asked for Jesus' Holy Spirit to commune with their own will be a sort of blank slate, still having free will but not hampered by an evil will trying to cloud their judgement. They will have history to show what they shouldn't do and Jesus as King of the Earth to see what they should do. Now go forward 1000 years. There would be those humans alive that suddenly have that evil will clouding their judgement. Satan surely will try again to wreck God's plan even though he can't.

Please read this article in full regarding the election. This pastor’s words is how I feel. He explains why he has trouble this election and he uses scripture to explain it. Soo powerful and moving, this article hit me hard. Truly a man who loves the Lord. www.desiringgod.org/articles/policies-persons-and-paths-to-ruin

I used to follow Piper... in fact, even attended a service once. Its just gonna be one of these things, venge , where I can not agree with 1) the premise of the character he is assignin to the orange man. For me, its the "doing" by the current man in office that "outweighs" his personality. And 2) no one knows what the Lord is doing in this man's life. If you ever looked into the history of his mom, apparently she was a prayer warrior in her day. Several of the descriptions piper uses I flat out disagree with. Sorry, I do not see the man currently as practicing sexual immorality. I dont see him any more boastful than the previous administration's gloating over "not a smidgeon of corruption" in their reign in office, what, really? What was your Sec of State doing? The worst is the man who think he can HIDE his sin from the world. Self-righteous in Sheep clothing walking around saying THIS is the behavior of a good man, while undermining his country, and himself border-lines on sexual impropriety. but here is the thing: What the elites tried to do to remove this man from office should scare the hell out of every single american. What they did to railroad Flynn and destroy that man's life is a disgrace. AND, the media having become an arm of a single Party in the country, censoring truth, preventing the spread of TRUTHFUL information on covid treatments, etc, and not reporting on all the good things this president has done is a disgrace to journalism. When this current president attacks the media, he is defending ME! He is defending MY FRUSTRATION with fake news. Even Jesus turned tables. This man in office has legitimate reasons for being frustrated and rather angry at how he has been treated.

I don't think our country's moral climate is due to who is leading it. Maybe a godly leader would help, but I think it would be only a temporary band-aid. It headed the wrong way quite awhile ago, and isn't going to turn around. Just browse the comment section on youtube or news outlets. Lawlessness, antichrist, selfishness. 2 Tim 3:1-4 The only answer is Jesus.
I live in Illinois -- run by Chicago. Most of the time I don't feel like my vote counts anyway. Our governor wants to lock down again and probably shut the churches.
I know this world is not my home. I know the government is not my savior. We aren't electing a pastor but a President. Will whoever it is be a good leader or will they lead us into ruin? Or for example, which party wants churches to remain open? which finds them non-essential? I know that the building isn't the Church and doesn't need a building, but I want those buildings open. I want the church seen as essential.
I do agree with Piper's comment "That is why I said my way need not be yours."

venge , socalexile , mike , stormyknight , barbiosheepgirl , Natalie , My initial thought was just skip the Piper article, but then, I decided to look at each article as a separate entity - one article does not a person make. It's good to be open-minded and read perspectives that challenge and even are diametrically opposed to our own, and it helps to be more aware of others' perspectives. I have to say that Mike's example, - explaining his location and circumstances helped me see things in a different light about each person's decision before God regarding whom to vote for, or maybe not supporting any candidate. In this particular case, Piper's article only confirmed his naive and one-dimensional view, and and it really should have just been a Tweet - "#Piper - I can't stand Trump's personality, and I think personality and personality types are as important as policies. Neither candidate is qualified to be the President of the America Christian's Club." Love your quote Natalie . "I do agree with Piper's comment "That is why i said my way need not be yours." Yeah, Piper - that's the funny thing about free will and end-times and Salvation and grits - we have the ability to accept it or reject it and reach different conclusions. You can have your grits with Jam, with lots of butter and salt, or just refuse them. heheheh. barbiosheepgirl , you said it well - in your assessment of why you refute Piper's notion. I'm not saying this is your assessment, but It's clear from the article that he somehow thinks these guys are running for RCAO - President of Real Christians of America. As if this notion had not been thought of and debunked thousands of times, his view of the election and candidates seemed shockingly one-dimensional and short-sighted - naively looking though a "one-man-four-year" lens, rather than 50 years from now, and the much larger, broader view of the Supreme Court, and the spiritual and cultural cancer we have already seen in the last 2 decades - and the implications for Christians to meet, worship publicly, as well as speak out against sin like LGBT and BLM's anti-family and occultic practices. We need look no farther than Cuomo's targeting of religious groups in New York, while he promotes rioters and looters. To paraphrase Piper - "You can have grits on a bike, you can have grits with a Pike. You can share them with your brother Mike or you can flush them if you like" [Your way need not be my way.] I have no delusion that I'm going to persuade the "elusive and mysterious undecided voter" if there is such a thing, but I don't want my children to ask me - "Dad, if you knew that we had a brown recluse infestation in our basement, would you do something about it.? Sounds extreme - I know. But we did have a very bad spider problem, in a rental house, and the small daughter about 7 yr was bitten and had to go to the hospital. I could have done nothing. I could have said "Oh, I'm sorry about that. I hope she gets better." I could have said - "Well, I'm glad it's not my own house. I actually did think - " I've spent several thousand dollars putting in new floors and building a new deck and putting in new moulding and painting and new washer. - you can use your own money." But I thought of my youngest daughter Ella Kate - 7 at the time - and I thought of how much I love her, and how much I despise spiders - and that I couldn't solve the spider issue for everyone, everywhere, but I could do something to protect those I care about and the ones I'm responsible for - legally and spiritually. Piper, we have a serious threat - a clear and present danger - and it's a global infestation. One that calls its members to cut the necks of Christians and Jews everywhere. We have a national and global threat of censorship against news, and truth and facts - which the Global Tech giants and media deem "unverified" and a rabid culture that literally changes the definition of terms like "sexual preference" overnight in the dictionary - because a radical LGBTQPERV senator said that it's "offensive". Senator Hono in the Amy Coney Barret hearings last week. I can't solve the problems of politicians on every side who lie, cheat, steal and do immoral things. But one state's election of a conservative senator came down to about 40,000 votes, which is the equivalent of Christians in 60 large churches in one city. Knoxville has over 700 churches listed in the yellow pages. If my children or neighbor ask me - "If you knew the Supreme Court was in the balance and it would affect our culture for 100 years as well as Christians across the nation - would you do something about it, and if so, what would you do"?? That, Piper, is why you can pass on the grits - I'll have mine with a loads of butter and salt. www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4354Biden addressed a group of Muslim lawyers - [Think Sharia law spreading like a pandemic and a president putting a Muslim on the Supreme Court] and he promised them publicly - that he would put Muslims in every level of government, in his administration. Imagine the hysteria if Biden made the same promise re evangelicals???

Except Piper is a strict Calvinist, and so he doesn't believe in free will. So if he doesn't like grits it's because God determined him to not like grits.
It has come to my attention also that he ascribes to Replacement Theology.
Earlier today, I was watching a live stream by Jan Markell, Barry Stagner, and Amir Tsarfati. They were talking about Piper's comments. They made the point that we are not only voting for a President but all he surrounds himself with. What kind of people has Trump surrounded himself with? What about Biden?
They also made the point that it is the church that is to be the moral compass of society, not the government. (which I was trying to make a point of earlier) Which candidate is pro church?
Which one of these lean socialist? Which one is pro America and pro Israel?
So, I say -- Be salt and light. Delay the decay of our country as long as possible. Keep our churches open as long as possible. Keep Christians from being silenced for as long as possible. Vote and spread the Gospel!
(ETA: but if you don't vote I will respect that choice. We all have to follow what we think the Lord wants us to do.)

Natalie , Yes, my friend, That was exactly the point of the Grits and Free will joke. There is a very direct and growing correlation between replacement theology and reformed theology. And what's very relevant and very disturbing is that one of the largest reformed/Calvinist denominations in the US was actively promoting the entire movement of BDS - Boycott, Divest and Sanction- a very anti-Israel movement which is exclusively targeted against Israel and no other country - calling for people to stop investing in Israel and stop buying Israeli made goods and stop using Israeli technology, and doing as much as they can to punish the nation and people of Israel. juicyecumenism.com/2018/06/28/pcusa-general-assembly-condemns-israel/ " Presbyterian Church (USA) General Assembly Stands with Palestine, Condemns Israel. It's as blatantly anti-semitic as you can be, one step short of the calling for the physical destruction of God's land and His people.
