Monday: leaders
Heavenly Father, We lift up our local and state leaders to You today. We are thankful for those who follow You and seek to honor You with the position they have been given. We ask that You would bless them with wisdom, peace, and clear communication as they seek to do what is best for their people during this time. We also pray that those who do not know You would come face to face with that truth and the truth that they need forgiveness and salvation. And even though they are not serving You, we ask that You would help them to do what is right and just for the people under them. May they know how to respond for the various crisis that are going on. And lastly we lift up our national leaders. May there be unity and justice. Please work through them. And change the hearts of those who are not yours. We also ask that you would guide people as they are making their decision about voting. In Jesus name, Amen.

Tuesday: churches
Heavenly Father, we lift up our local churches to You. We ask that You guide the pastors, teachers, and elders as they make decisions on how to worship during this time. We ask that You guard Your children as they gather for worship. Please give strength and encouragement to those that are still doing things online. May they still reach out to each other and be the body together. May they find a way to gather together to worship. May this time be a time where people are guided to the truth. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thursday: Col 1:9-13
Heavenly Father, Some days we lack the words for prayer, but we know that Your Word is truth and has much that can be used when we don't know what to say. So today we pray from the letter to the Colossians - Asking that believers may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May we be strengthened with all power, according to Your glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to You who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. You have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of Your beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. In His name we pray, Amen.

Monday: Bible translation
Heavenly Father, Today we lift up those who long to take Your word to those who do not have it by the means of giving them a Bible in their own language -- to hear Your truth in the language of their heart. We ask that you would guide them in the process. Give them wisdom as they work with groups that not only need Your word, but they need to start with a alphabet, grammar, and a written language. May they produce translations that are faithful, are well understood, and will reach many. Guide the distributions of the written copies and the audio versions. May Your word light the darkness that is in so many places. In Jesus name, Amen.

Tuesday: Hurricane Eta and voting
Heavenly Father, We pray today for those in Nicaragua who are in the path of this huge hurricane. We ask that You protect them. May they have physical safety and may they reach out to their Creator for spiritual safety. We also ask for guidance this day as voting for the US President and other leaders is taking place. Help us believers to remember to honor You, not only by our choices, but also by our attitude if our choices do not win. May we remember that all of this is in Your hand and You will use who You will to accomplish Your plans. In Jesus name, Amen.

Wednesday:
Heavenly Father, We continue to pray for those that are in the path of Storm Eta. We ask that You guide and protect those in the path and those who are dealing with flooding and destruction. We also continue praying for the election results. May honesty and integrity prevail. If there is any fraud, may it be found out quickly. We know that ultimately You are in control of the outcome and the one who You will use for Your plans in these last days will be declared the winner. Our trust is in You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thursday:
Heavenly Father, We thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross and rise again for the forgiveness of sin. We thank You for the simple message that He did it all. Today we pray for those that are trapped by a false gospel. We know that there are many false gospels out there. We ask that You open their eyes - get their attention. We know that Your Word says many will gather teachers that teach only what they want to hear. May their desires change and may they not be satisfied with anything less than the Truth. In Jesus name, Amen.

Friday: Paul's prayer Eph 1:17-19
Heavenly Father, We come to You today to pray for the church as the way Paul did in Ephesians...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that we may know what is the hope to which You have called us, what are the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward us who believe. And may we stand firm in the truth of the Gospel of Jesus, in His name we pray, amen.

Monday:
Heavenly Father, Sometimes watching all that is going on is overwhelming. Please give us Your peace so that we may not fear or be anxious. We ask that You would give us strength to keep fighting the good fight. Help us to walk in the good works You have laid out for us. May we speak truth with love. May we not be overwhelmed but may we not grow cold either. May we not get used to the violence and wickedness. Help us also to bring hope to those around us. May we share the answer for all of this. And may we have joy as we continue watching for the return of our King. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Help them to stay safe. It's a tough time to be in some of these positions. May they be encouraged by those around them who do value what they do. And may they seek You with their whole heart. Wednesday: Israel
Heavenly Father, We know that Your Word says to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And so we pray that Your peace will settle in the hearts of the Jewish people. May they soften their hearts and turn their minds toward You, knowing that if they search earnestly for the truth that You will show them. May they see the truth in their Scriptures and come to know true peace by coming to know the Prince of Peace. We pray for wisdom for Israel's leaders. And we pray that they put their trust in You and not anything man can do. We thank You for keeping Your promises to Israel for in doing so we can trust Your promises to us. We look forward to the blessings that will be poured out on them when they come to Jesus. It's in His name we pray, Amen.

Thursday: persecuted church
Heavenly Father, We come to You today on behalf of Christians worldwide who are being persecuted. We pray that they will stand firm in their faith and place all their trust in You because You are trustworthy. We also pray for those doing the persecuting. May they see the Gospel at work and hear the truth so that their hearts can also be changed. We have read how Paul was changed and know that Jesus changes people. We pray for comfort for those who are separated from their families because of persecution. May they lean on You and the promises in Your Word. For this is not our home. In Jesus name, Amen.
