Hi, I am just wondering what it is telling us she used her whoredom with the kings of the earth aren’t the kings speaking of Gentile nations which seems to indicate she is not of the Gentile nation. Could this be the apostate potion of Israel who has accepted the counterfeit Christ, anti-christ. I am troubled because judgment is first to the Jew and then to the Gentiles and salvation in the same manner. Also we are told that anti- Christ and the false prophet are defeated after they destroy the apostate portion of Israel. When the Lord stands on the Mount of Olives it will split in two, reminds me of the Red Sea and the faithful remnant of Israel flees through gaining their salvation having accepted the Lord and being hunted by antChrist. Then anti-christ and the false prophet are chucked into the Lake of Fire. At this time Satan is brought down from heaven “so he cannot deceive the nations” for the thousand years. Imagine that no satanic power and men, the apostate portion of the nations, and men will still reject the Christ. That is such a powerful statement of what the natural man, all natural men, of the hate they have for God. There but for the Grace of God would have been me but my Shepherd seeks His sheep and He has lost He has been given.
one last thought. The “great City” of the revelation is identified in Rev. 11 as the city where our Lord was crucified the identity of the great city is never shown to be different from that revelation and three times we are told her spiritual condition. Twice in re. 11 she, the city their Lord was crucified is spiritual “Sodom and “Egypt” and her final spiritual state is mystery Babylon. She is said to be the mother of harlots and there is only one place said to be the mother of harlots, oholabah oholah, drawn from memory may not be spelled correctly.
breathoflife, I just wanted to share my opinion that in the Book of Revelation "the kings of the earth" are the seven spirits of Rev. 1:5 that are of "every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" (Rev. 5:9-10). These kings belong to Christ and were washed clean in his blood. Then at Rev. 17:2 and 18:3 we see that these kings have fornicated with Babylon and when she falls they mourn her loss (Rev. 18:9). That is, the followers of Christ mourn when Babylon falls. Notice that the merchants are very connected to Babylon (Rev. 18:11).
Thus, Babylon is the economic system of the world that is dominated by the U. S. and as a result if the economic system falls then our country has fallen. We can see the economic system falling with our 20 trillion national debt and the push for zero interest to service that debt. All nations around the world are having their own financial problems and it is just a matter of time until nations become bankrupt. The only thing keeping us afloat is the understanding that we as a nation are to important to fail much like the heavy hitters in 2008. They were to important to fail so the government bailed them out. However, who bails out the goverment? No one.
So Babylon is the economic system that falls and it is replaced by the mark of the beast economic system (Rev. 13:16-17). As a result the burning (Rev. 17:16) of Babylon is the burning of the economic support structure that is the nations upholding capitalism; like Great Britain that wants it's freedom from the EU, and the United States that is currently championing the nationalist and not the world agenda. So, as the U. S. pulls away from the rest of the world and encourages other nations to do likewise, then this becomes a threat to the balance of power and the beast responds to protect it's own survival. So basically the world economic system transitions from capitalism to the mark of the beast. The question is and we will soon see this transitional phase. Our debt is increasing at the rate of 1 trillion per year and this can not be sustained.
So, the fall of Babylon is the fall of the economic system that takes with it the fall of nation states. Those nations who survive will belong to the beast.
Additionally, the seven spirits are the seven churches that in the Book of Revelation represents us as in you and I and the family of God on the earth. Thus, we all have been washed in the blood of Christ and we all are fornicating in Babylon the economic system of the world.
