But take heart, it is not always a reliable method of dating.

Carbon-14, (14C), or radiocarbon, is a radioactive (that is how the carbon dating method kind of works)
For example, the isotope of carbon called carbon-14 is radioactive.
It has 8 neutrons (instead of the usual 6) and radiates beta particles.
When an atom emits radiation it undergoes radioactive decay.
Half-life: 5,730 ± 40 years
So the theory is that in 5730 years (plus or minus 40 years) -- 1/2 the Carbon-14 that was in a item is gone.
The issues with this method is
1) One must assume how much carbon-14 was already present in the item being reviewed.
2) One must assume that carbon-14 really has an Half-Life of 5,730 years (ie who observed over 5730 years ago how much carbon-14 was in an item to determine how much was lost?)
Finally -- Axl Rose (William Bruce Rose Jr - 1962) and his band Guns N' Roses {which came into existence in 1985}

The second thing I wish to point out (within verse 14) is how that verse starts out "he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth...." please note this is additional proof that the "people" being warned of this coming prophetic events -- are John's (writer of Revelation) people -- or the Jews (People of Israel)....
In other words; those people (or the primary group being deceived) will be the children of Israel....
