Hello dear family, This may have already been discussed, but I had a question (and a hope!) on when we actually get raptured. 1 Cor 15:52 says -In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Thess 4:16 says - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
I know we will be changed immediately, in the twinkling of an eye - but it seems we get at least 5-30 seconds to hear: the shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God? I am hoping we get those 5 - 30 seconds to realize and be SO absolutely amazed, and then - poof! Gone!!
What do y'all think?

I've thought about how this happens many, many times.
IMHO...only believers hear the shout and the trumpet, only mere seconds for those to occur, then in like 1/40 of a second, transformation and we are in the clouds.
As to the people of this world that are left behind, they see and hear nothing. We just vanish. I think some people will see some of us disappear. Many of these will most likely become believers, because regardless of the official explanation for what has happened, no one will be able to erase the memory of what they saw with their own 2 eyes.

A few years ago, I saw a "Rapture Movie" (do not recall the name) and rather than have the standard missing people with clothes and glasses and teeth and hear aids ... left behind as well.....
The had the Raptured People -- Fall Down with their Eye's Glazed Over -- (like they were dead bodies).....
Besides being really creepy .... this movie also had the Revelation Like Plagues starting right away -- like locust................
ANYWAY - as many of you I speculate that MANY CHURCH Members (ie. know the language [head knowledge] -- but no Heart Knowledge) ....
Will immediately "see the truth" if people just disappear ....... so is it possible there will be some sort of deceiving spirit keeping them from recognizing it....
say like the above mentioned movie -- where there be bodies every-where?

There are a few who think our spirits are removed from our bodies at the rapture, leaving a dead carcass behind, but I don't think so. The bible says "we will be changed", "transformed". Meaning the body of flesh goes, but it's changed into a glorified body. So we don't get new bodies for our spirits. This is why the dead in Christ are raised. Their bodies are reconstituted and glorified, otherwise they would just get a new body. (I believe the dead in Christ's spirit/souls are in heaven, their bodies in the grave...some don't believe this.) Like Jesus, who was raised "bodily", still bearing the nail prints and gash in His side. The tomb was empty and He appeared in the same body that hung on the cross, but glorified.

Don't forget what Corinthians tells us too fitz. You have to have a seed for the fruit to produce. This shell we inhabit will transform in a glorious eternal body

1 Thess 4:16 says - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: I know we will be changed immediately, in the twinkling of an eye - but it seems we get at least 5-30 seconds to hear: the shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God? I am hoping we get those 5 - 30 seconds to realize and be SO absolutely amazed, and then - poof! Gone!! What do y'all think? Hello inaweofhim, Arnt we all, in awe of Him? Love the name. You had asked, There is some differences in opinion on the forums but I will be happy to tell you what I believe with scripture. I will let others tell their ideas and you can study and form your own opinions agreed? You had quoted 2 famous well known verses. As you noted, the 2 things that stand out in each before our "changing and rising" is at the last trumpet and the voice of an arch angel must sound. These 2 things happen before we are changed. But you are missing something else. There is a third and a fourth prerequisite too. Christ must reign in order for us to be changed and we are told: I will come back to when Christ reigns but here, we are told the gospel must be preached unto all nations. It is fitting then that we know the last 2 people to share the gospel, IMO, are non other then the 2 witnesses. This is because in Rev 11:7 it is said of them: Once finished, they are killed and brought up to heaven. Why this is important is because it fulfills Matthew 24:14 and with its fulfilment, it allows the Archangel to cry out from 1 Thess 4:16. I will touch on him in a minute too. We cannot forget though, Matthew 24:29-31 The verses here add more to the picture. We know a last trumpet must sound, we know an archangel will cry out and we know the gospel will be preached unto all nations. We also know Christ will reign. ( I will show this in a momment). But now we are shown in Matthew 24 that it happens after the tribulation per verse 29. We also know that it happens after the 6th seal from the same verse. I will let you finish reading the verse. So back to Christ reign... It is at his coming that we are changed and per Matthew 24, his coming happens after the 6th seal. In the parable of the weeds, Christ had said to let the wheat (believers) and the weeds (wicked men) grow together until the harvest at the end of the age. Then, when the end comes, he will gather the weeds in bundles. Then he will gather the wheat into his barn. Finally, he will burn the weeds. The wheat cannot be gathered to Himself till the weeds are bundled. God's wrath is the burning of the weeds. This does not happen till the bowl judgments when the wrath of God is poured out. We even see in Revelation 14:9-10, that the wrath of God comes down on these same weeds/tares because they follow the beast. In verse 12, the Bible tells us that when we see this happen, we must have patience and endurance to last. They who keeps the commandments of God and testimony of Christ Jesus. It is because at that time, right after Mystery Babylon is destroyed, it will be a time of testing. The greatest example given is Lot's wife when she looked back. In her heart was the world, it was her treasure. It is after this that we see our salvation
In Revelation 20:5-6, the First Resurrection is announced. The first resurrection is stated to happen when Christ begins to reign. This is even mentioned in Rev 5:10. But when does this happen? Is the first resurrection and the rapture of saints the same thing? Lets take a look at Rev 11:1. At the 7th Trumpet, the last Trump of God, we see the kingdoms of the world are now his and he shall begin to reign. It is at His reign that we can be raised per Rev 20:5-6. This is the time of the first resurrection. It is also at this time we know from 1 Cor 15 and 1 Thess 4 that the last trumpet of God is blown and that we can rise. His reign when we are given our reward is also shown in Matthew 25:31-34 We are raised (our reward) at his reign which is the 7th trumpet. So when does the archangel come in that has to blown the trumpet in order for Christ to reign and resurrect his saints for the rapture? The voice of the 7th Mighty angel is the voice of the archangel of 1 Thess 4:16. The end has now come as God's mystery is now finished. It is now time to reward his saints, the prophets and all who follow his name. And lastly, now that Christ reigns and we are raptured, to destroy them that destroy the earth. So for me to answer your question, I could link many more verses to support my logic but I will say this, When do we actually get raptured? The rapture begins at Christ reign which is the 7th Trumpet of Revelation. His wrath is poured out in the form of bowls to “them which destroy the earth” once the shofar is blown and we are removed from his wrath. This is the time of the first resurrection and it is at this time we are gathered with the sound of the last trumpet of God from every corner of the earth to inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world. This is the reward promised to all them that fear His name. The first resurrection. The rapture before the flood. To be saved from His wrath because we are no longer under any condemnation of our sinful nature to those who believed. WW1 and WW2 had Christians in it. They might have thought it was the end. I would have. I am sure God allows things to happen as he moves pieces of the puzzle for a reason. But the wickedness of man is not his wrath though He uses man. There can be tribulation like WW1 and WW2 in the future, call it WW3 is youd like, but tribulation is persecution. God's wrath is worse. Gods wrath: orgé Definition: impulse, wrath Usage: anger, wrath, passion; punishment, vengeance God's wrath: thumos Definition: passion Usage: an outburst of passion, wrath. Not God's wrath: thlipsisDefinition: tribulationUsage: persecution, affliction, distress, tribulation

Hello Venge, and all, Thank you for your dedicated and beautiful reply. You are always so intense in your biblical analysis - and I appreciate that!
I don't agree with your timing of the Rapture, but I love how you analyze the Word.
I have to tell you I saw something in your reply that I had not seen before: and I wonder what you - and all others in the family - think.
Matthew 24 (which I believe is talking to Israel as a nation, after the church is raptured; and what Israel and those left will be experiencing) states:
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
This is after the tribulation, the whole wrath poured out - that Jesus: 1. appears in the sky 2. comes in the clouds of heaven with great power and glory (has not yet touched down on earth) 3. sends His angels to gather the elect FROM the four winds, FROM ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER! He is sending His angels to get all us raptured saints who are in heaven so we can go with Him down to earth to reign!!!
Winds = Gr, anemos defined as wind, a violent agitation and stream of air
a very strong tempestuous wind
the four principal or cardinal winds, hence the four corners of heaven
Heaven = Gr ouranos defined as the vaulted expanse of the sky with all things visible in it
the universe, the world
the aerial heavens or sky, the region where the clouds and the tempests gather, and where thunder and lightning are produced
the sidereal or starry heavens
the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings
I just saw this, and was amazed! Thank you Venge! You may not have meant for me to read it this way - but that is what I see! Jesus is calling His saints to His side as He prepares to reign on earth.
We may not fully agree, but we both love Jesus our Savior and LORD!!

inaweofhim - I have read it that way, too. Made me wonder how big the place He is preparing for us really is! OR maybe we don't stay there the whole time of Jacob's Trouble but are out around heaven doing things? So many thoughts to ponder!

Respectfully Venge, how could we be raised at his reign? If His reign on earth begins after the destruction of the wicked at the final battle.. referencing Rev 19:19. And, who are the armies which were in heaven who followed Him upon white horses, clothed in clean white linen. ? Rev 19:14
Moreover, earlier in chapter 19 (verse 1) it states that John heard the roar of a large crowd of people in heaven who praise God, following this is the wedding feast of the lamb. Who are these people and the events they take part in?
Perhaps those who are raised at his reign are tribulation saints because its not until chapter 20 in which John saw them come to life those who had not worshipped the beast or its image, nor had they received the mark of the beast on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and ruled as kings with Christ for a thousand years. Rev 20:4
Appreciate your thoughts to my questions Maranatha

I’m at a hospital and not at my computer where I can provide scripture. You asked how we can be raised at his reign. I had provided a few verses to show when he begins to reign at the 7th Trumpet is before the wicked are destroyed. You are looking at the wicked as seals and trumpets. It sounds to me you are taking all of Revelation chronologically. Some of it is; parts that explain what happens after a prerequisite. Other parts are put together using deductive logic of scripture backing up scripture. We are raised at his coming. If you are looking for a type of timeline, I suppose it would be resurrected at the 7th Trumpet when Christ begins to reign, closing the door to heaven from prayers/people in the prelude to the bowls, wrath of God in bowls against wicked, wedding supper in the bowls. This is why the wicked are gathered in the trumpets. Then we are gathered into his barn. Then the wicked are burned (bowls). You need to step back and look at seals and trumpets and go in with an open mind. If you don’t, you won’t see it. Not just with this but anything. That is not saying you are wrong or I am right. I’m saying that if you cannot approach anything in scripture with scripture alone and don’t trust in your own understanding. Challenge yourself and study. I wish I could paste scripture here. Perhaps barbiosheep can post for me. She may not agree with everything I say but I’m confident she understands how I view this subject and can explain it for me lol. I applaud you for asking though. I did not come to my understanding by commentaries or books or internet stuff. I read and studied and and continue to do so that I understand things. It helps when reading others view points even when we disagree

Appreciate the reply brother
I suppose our views (or timelines) differ a bit, though I respect and will put more prayer into it. My bible, especially Revelation is pretty dog-ear'd and bookmarked so study I do.
Pray you're doing ok - being in a hospital as you said. I suppose you could be working there also....
Bye for now

My bible, especially Revelation is pretty dog-ear'd and bookmarked so study I do. Pray you're doing ok - being in a hospital as you said. I suppose you could be working there also.... Bye for now You asked about the reign of Christ. When "they" came to life, that was the rapture and the changing in the twinkling of an eye. They cannot change till he begins to reign and that once be begins to reign, we are changed and reign with him. That's because verse 5 says, And verse 6 backs this up with: The resurrection happens when Christ begins to reign. When he begins to reign, we are resurrected into our new bodies. That is why I showed you Rev 11:15 Now that the kingdoms of the earth have become the kingdoms of Christ - he has begun to reign because the kingdoms no longer are under Satan because he is sealed. Satan is bound for the 1k years that Christ reigns beginning at the 7th Trumpet once it is blown. When Satan is sealed, the kingdoms become Christ. Because he can now reign, we are resurrected. We are taken into his barn and the rest left on the world are to burn as the weeds/tares in the bowls. This is why Rev 11:18 says that NOW we will be rewarded which was promised. This is shown because in the parable of the 10 virgins when Christ comes, the door is shut when 5 virgins leave. The other 5 cry unto him Lord Lord but the door was shut. We see the door shut in the prelude before the 1st Bowl and after the 7th Trumpet. This is when the door to heaven shuts: Even in Exodus and Numbers, when the temple is filled with smoke or a cloud is within it, no man can enter the temple or they die. Not only is the door shut up and no man can go to heaven at this point, but even prayers cannot go to heaven. That is a pretty specific timeline.

Ok, I'm trying to understand, and got your answer to the reign of Christ. However, what say you to my second question? Who are the armies which were in heaven who followed Him upon white horses, clothed in clean white linen. ? Rev 19:14 And my follow up after that? To me this likely speaks of resurrected believers thru the ages (and us).
Overall... I find it hard to fathom that the church age believer is the same as the tribulation believer who has needed to be refined in the fire
One verse that demonstrates this grace.... 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God.

Maranatha Just got a chance to get back to you! Jude 1:14 says, I believe that the 7th trumpet changes us to immortality bringing us up to meet him in the clouds of Heaven. It is then we are always with the Lord as the scripture says. Therefore, it is believers in Christ that follow him in Rev Rev 19:8 specifies that the white linen seen in verse 19 most likely belongs to us. You stated: Are we all so perfect that non of us need refining? I don't look at myself that way. I pray I would not go though chastisement from the Lord but I'd rather he punish me and I can change then not to punish me and I be forsaken. I think the issue is tribulation and your definition of it. Look below, tribulation is NEVER God's wrath. The Christians in China, is there punishment and torture refining them to Gold? Many in prison have already said YES. When we are weak, we are strong. Is it God punishing them or man? Gods wrath: orgé
Definition: impulse, wrathUsage: anger, wrath, passion; punishment, vengeance God's wrath: thumos
Definition: passionUsage: an outburst of passion, wrath. Not God's wrath: thlipsisDefinition: tribulationUsage: persecution, affliction, distress, tribulation Look at some scripture related to tribulation Notice Romans 8:35 follows the definitions I posted above. Persecution, afliction, distress etc...In the tribulation we will be persecuted, we will be hunted down, we will be enemy of the state. But this is from man, not God. Man does this and brings about wickedness. man brings in the gloom and darkness. It is in man's darkness shadowing the earth that Christ comes back. But we are told when tribulation rises and we shall see it, not to be ashamed of the word of God. Be patient. You are taking the tribulation to be God's wrath but can you show me scripture that 100% says it is his wrath? Can you show me Greek that it is his wrath? If we were living during WW1 or WW2 and the Nazi's came in. And they took Christians into death camps and killed us and made us wear a mark on our wrists and our home in France or where ever was a wasteland....you'd think it was the end. But did God do that or did man? Did God make every major terrible war in human history that caused tribulation or did man? Now, God uses man to accomplish His purpose. He can use man to punish the human race. But does God cause all these wars? I'd day no. If no, then we can agree that man causes them because of our wickedness. How does that differ from the last man that will rule the final kingdom of iron and clay? How does Nazism differ from the last kingdom when Christians and Jews are persecuted? Yes it is the last kingdom before Christ reigns but how does it differ from other kingdoms that were caused by men like Stalin, Hitler, Nebuchadnezzar, Nero, Sadaam Huseein, King John, Idi Amin, Genghis Khan etc.. This is why verse after verse says for us to persevere when we come face to face with tribulation. Real tribulation. The tribulation Chinese Christians are facing right now. The tribulation Christians in Iraq and Egypt faced under ISIS. Because that tribulation hasn't come to the USA too many turn a blind eye as if we are to escape it because were safe. If the same tribulation that effects China, Iraq, Sudan, most of Africa and the middle east invades Europe and North America and we put it under 1 leader....is it still the same tribulation today on a larger scale and still done by a man and people under this man. Still not God's wrath. This is why I showed you that the door to heaven is still open even during the trumpets. It is not shut till after the 7th trumpet and before the 1st bowl. That is why Joel 2:9-12 explains the invading armies in the end times. And even in this time God says even now....turn to me. There is still a chance because the door is not shut yet. We do not go to Christ until his coming. He only comes 1 more time. Not a few more times. Not in the clouds and leaves, not then later on touches the ground with his feet, and not a third time on a horse. There is no 3rd and 4th advent, only a 2nd. 1 time. He comes back 1 time. Why do you think Christ told us to watch and not give into temptations? Why did Christ mention the servant that said "my Lord delayeth his coming" and went to eat and drink with the wicked. All these things he warned us. Remember, the hour of temptation that comes on the whole world happens in those last 1260 days. That spans all the way to the 7th trumpet IMO. Thats the hr of temptation, not the hr of devestation. Its to convict those that are wicked and to make white those who are truely his. You mentioned tribulation. Why do the 5th seal martyrs cry out for God to attack those that killed them but he says not yet till your other brothern die in like manner. It isnt God's wrath if his people are asking for his wrath to come.
