Do Catholics just go along with whatever he declares?
and I am not even sure what that last phrase means.

I find it kind of crazy....
Where the heck is "into beatitude"? He uses it as a place -- but all the definitions I have seen -- has it as an emotion....
As a side note: without purgatory now -- wonder if the C Church is going to refund all the money they collected to ensure people were bought out of purgatory.

WOW! Hopefully those who are Catholic believe in the atonement of Christ not this nonsense. He is leading people astray for sure
On Wednesday, October 11, at the general audience in Saint Peter’s Square, Francis said that such a judgment is not to be feared, because “at the end of our history there is the merciful Jesus,” and therefore “everything will be saved. Everything.”
At another general audience a few months ago, on Wednesday, August 23, Francis gave for the end of history an image that is entirely and only comforting: that of “an immense tent, where God will welcome all mankind so as to dwell with them definitively.” ***An image that is not his own but is taken from chapter 21 of Revelation, but from which Francis was careful not to cite the following words of Jesus:
“The victor will inherit these gifts, and I shall be his God, and he will be my son. But as for cowards, the unfaithful, the depraved, murderers, the unchaste, sorcerers, idol-worshipers, and deceivers of every sort, their lot is in the burning pool of fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

It's amazing how He has even rejected the work on the cross by Jesus...this is why Martin Luther stood up to the Catholic Church 500 years ago. Complete blasphemy...sad part is that people who profess to be Christians are going along with it. It's the apostosia and rise of the false-prophet of the Great Tribulation.

Hubby was taught in Catholic GRADE school that the Pope was the Holy See, The Vicar Of Christ, >>The Substitute<< for Christ.

Well, I must have died and gone to beatitude! Cause I'm already contemplating God.

Here's the thing about most Catholics, at least here in America, it may be different elsewhere. I know because I was raised as a catholic. Most don't really know much at all about what the Catholic church believes. There is often disagreement on what they do know about. I would say that most are completely out of touch with the Pope and what he thinks. Pretty much as a Catholic, you go to church, you go through all the sacraments you make confession you repeat your prayers and all is good, you check off your boxes and you believe in God and Jesus and maybe Mary and some other "saints" too. You don't actually read the bible, let alone study it.
So if the Pope makes some claim, that doesn't mean that every Catholic even knows about it or ascribes to it. Not all Catholics believe the Pope is the Vicar of Christ either.
Just adding my 2 cents

I have a friend who was raised RC, and she says the church basically taught "be good." There was no studying the Bible. She got saved and left Catholicism.
