Now, maybe I should have posted this in the heavenly kingdom or millennial reign, but this is meant to be light-hearted.
Confession time: I loath and detest my hair. Everytime I have to deal with it, I imagine Jesus going H.A.M. in the temple with the money-changers. It's THAT serious.
Do we get 'good hair' in heaven? Will we be able to change up our look? I am not looking to drastically alter its chemistry but I need a heavenly wash n go. I'd love to rock a 40-inch 'fro for choir practice one day, then wake up to a nice Domican blowout if I have to travel or work gathering berries or petting the lions or cuddling children. Oh, and waist-length and swinging...id want that too some days!
Most of my earthly hair stylists have been gay and despite any witnessing (for sometimes selfish reasons, don't judge me!), I don't know that I'll be able to get my hair hooked up once all is said and done. Is my hair just a case of being in its sinful state right now? When I put on the incorruptible, will my tresses follow suit, or will they be in a continuous rebellious state? Will I just KNOW how to deal properly with it, being more heavenly minded?
I dont really want to pester Jesus with this one, but thought I'd ask you ladies about what your thoughts are. Also, if you have had or are currently experiencing earthly hair horrors, please share.
I'll start up the popcorn as I await your replies.
Thanks for listening!

It is funny- I was thinking about hair the other day too. I've been thinning a bit and it would be nice to have all the hair back on my head and none of those that have decided to take up residence on my chin. But my idea of perfect may not be the heavenly idea of perfect. Perhaps I will end up with a whole ton of chin hair without any tweezers in sight. And I will not care because now that I am in my perfect body, I will not be vain about things like that.
It would be nice to have blow-out hair all the time that doesn't need washing and doesn't lose strands to falling out. I have always shed a lot and as such, pretty much stick to having it in a ponytail. I would like to either be all grey or not grey at all. I experienced my first grey hair at 16 and generally look 10 years older than I am because of greys.
However it goes, it will be all good.

I'm sure your hair will be lovely, ladies! Jesus will give you perfect hair. I'm pretty sure of it.

Sawdy,
I'll pluck your chin hairs in heaven...I have vast experience with hair picking in my family. I think it might be a passive aggressive condition that since my head hair is such a trial, I get entirely too much pleasure plucking for those growin it in unfortunate areas. It may be why my mother-in-law likes me so much. Everytime we see each other, she's armed with tweezers and hands them to me without a word and I set to work on her chin.
I feel you on the hair issues. As the saying goes, 'I catch everything except boys and money with my hair' when it's allowed to blow free!
Watchmanjim, from your lips to God's ears, or whomever stands post at the beauty salon!
See you at the heavenly hair salon, sawdy!
I just gotta believe, if He can save our souls, SURELY something can be done with my head.

Have had white hair since I was forty. Asked my family once if they would like me to color it. The reply was "no, you are easy to spot in a crowd."

So...not to crash the ladies party, but.... Hair, of any kind, would be nice I've been without for several years now.

Confession time: I loath and detest my hair. Everytime I have to deal with it, I imagine Jesus going H.A.M. in the temple with the money-changers. It's THAT serious.I laughed out loud at that. I really did. I too have imagined what the details and realities of our glorified bodies will be, even down to our hair. I'm sure, if necessary, God has placed your designated heavenly mansion on the same block as a glorified hair stylist. And they'll have plenty of time to learn your preferences and create the perfect the look. Lol.

Barb84: you're probably one of those with that shockingly beautiful white hair and gorgeous skin, right? Take heart, I am sure we'll be able to change our hair to suit our whimsy...I've always wanted to go electric blue, but chickened out about bleaching my dark hair for color to take!
Silent knight: so MANY of my brothers have lost their hair during their earthly race. I suspect it may have been a way to save y'all time before you went out to do His work! Be of good cheer-you brothers will probably be blessed with rock star hair in prep for the feast!
AlwaysPraying: thank you, sis! Don't know if I've pre-qualified for a mansion...id always pictured a little cottage, near some water, with trees. Or a stone tower in a clearing. I gotta have some flora and fauna about my abode for all my animals and the deer! Maybe I could get me a stylist who does home-consults...one of the indignities on earth was having to endure all the unintentional gawking as a stylist would tame my head-hat from wild-locust-eatin-John type locks to its-oh-so-smoothe-and-long proportions!
Thank you all for your assurances and contributions. I feel much better knowing that I am not alone in my hair struggles!
Stay up, pray up, and be blessed y'all! -km

Y'all have made my day.
I am far too apt to steer lighthearted discussions into serious territory, and apt also to kill threads and turn them off topic, but I'm with all the closet chin-pluckers and wanna-be hair divas out there. I am thoroughly quit of all the hassle and I go back and forth between wondering whether indeed I will care about appearance in the glorified state or whether some of our creative fancies will be let to run a little freer than they can here.
We await the redemption of our bodies, and yes that also means our hair!

Afterdarkness, you are NOT a thread killer...I think I hold that title Don't you try and take my crown, girl! I'm sure we will be trying LOTSof hair-raising stories once we've reached our redemptive states. I hope that if Jesus shows up to our story times, he'll just nod and smile and act as though He's hearing and seeing our tales for the first time. Blessing on all y'all whom have read, nodded and participated in this thread! It's been good for my soul as we watch and wait.

I just hope there is less humidity in heaven. I love my curly hair, but humidity just is not my friend.

I don't know how I just discovered this thread. It's a treasure. katmak, next to being aware of the season of my Lord's and the joy associated with that, this thread has been the next best part of studying bible prophecy. Oh, and I will never be able to think about the situation with the money changers without thinking about Jesus going H.A.M.
