Several times this year I have experienced spiritual warfare while sleeping. Usually demonic activity assaults my dreams and I end up waking up in a panic, needing to pray to the Lord for deliverance from my attackers. Sometimes I can catch glimpses of them, sometimes I actually hear their voices. This does not happen real often, but more often when I am in a period of intense dialogue with the Lord.
Last night while sleeping at home, I dreamed I was under spiritual attack while partaking of my job as a security officer. I dreamed that my building was infiltrated by nonphysical demon entities, and that it was the job of myself and one other man to deal with them. I dreamed that I grabbed a sword and cried out to the Lord and successfully defended my office building against attack, and the enemies retreated outside the building and would not return. After a few more minutes of dreaming, I woke up.
This represents a milestone for me in spiritual warfare-- that I actually cried out to the Lord without waking up. Our dreams are a very wild war zone sometimes-- for me anyway-- and the rational mind is severely handicapped during sleep. I am thankful for this new breakthrough, and the new knowledge that it is possible to successfully exert my will and follow Biblical principles and seek the Lord even while sleeping.

I had another dream a night or two ago where I came to realize I was doing a terrible sin, and stopped in the middle of it. While I didn't seem to have any way to not find myself doing it, I at least had the ability, even sleeping, to resist and stop. This is a hopeful thing for me-- I wish to gain the spiritual mastery of even my dreams by God's grace.

That is often where I'm attacked the most - in my sleep. Whether it be nightmares, fear, or temptation. I try to maintain a habit of praying before I go to sleep "lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil".

Last night I had two more attacks. One was pretty severe. I dreamed that I was investigating a house where a boy had disappeared, leaving his clothes and some blood. While I was investigating it with my son and some people I didn't know, I dreamed I was grabbed by an invisible force and thrown about the room and twisted and swung around by something with the force of a machine but the fluidity of a creature. I cried out, "Father, help me!" and I started waking up, then I called on Jesus and woke up the rest of the way. My heart was pounding and I felt paralyzed but as I focused on my Savior the shock and tingling went away and my heart began to wind down. VERY REAL.
I went back to sleep and woke out of a vaguely remembered dream where I was defending myself against somebody--bad thing is, in real life, I unknowingly clobbered my wife with my fist. Thankfully, she knows about spiritual warfare and didn't take it personally! She wasn't hurt badly. I woke up as I felt myself hit her, and apologized.
Spiritual warfare is a rough thing, but God is great to deliver us!

Wow Jim, that sounds intense. I can say I've been blessed not to have to deal with that kind of dream in awhile, but I've had a few and you can tell it is spiritual warfare. The enemy comes after me in other ways though.
No matter. I know a powerful Name. JESUS.

I have dealt with spiritual warfare for a long time. Charles Stanley recommends praying Ephesians 6 every day. It works. God literally sent an angel the first time I prayed this. I read the scripture aloud, rebuke every spirit in Jesus name, put on every piece of armor on myself and my family, and pray for protection.

When looking at the meaning of your dream, if it possible you are spiritualy worried about your son? The house may be your household and the boy that disappeared may be your son. disappeared may mean “indicates either that we are not ready to face the knowledge that understanding would bring us, or that there is something we would rather forget." investigating may mean “recognition of the spiritual examination”

Well my son was right there in the house with me investigating along with me, as if we were private investigators or something like that. I was not concerned for him in the dream. The boy who was missing was somebody else's child. I distinctly had the idea in the dream that the boy who disappeared was not anyone I knew personally.
But maybe there is a boy in trouble right now who needs our prayer.

I'm glad to hear that your son is fully walking with Jesus in his life and you have no fear at all in him making the rapture. If you did have some doubt of him making the rapture the dream also contains more information on what you are to do. That is why I asked the question.

I was just going to let you all know I've had more of these instances. The most recent one was fairly rough after i did a live Facebook video about Ezekiel 1. The enemy didn't like what i had to say i guess and they tried to suffocate me in my sleep. The Lord rescued me as always.
