Leviticus Chapter 23 the roadmap for the Jewish people to come to understand who YHWH is and also for his physical appearances. The Abrahamic Covenant gave the land of Israel to the people. A promise from God. God is in control of what is happening past, present, and future. Look at what has happened to America since we have been trying to break up the land and give it to the Palestinians (Read the book Eye to Eye Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel by William Koenig). Exodus 6:6-7 Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I (1st promise fulfilled) will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians, I (2nd promise fulfilled) will free you from being slaves to them, and I (3rd promise fulfilled) will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I (4th promise) will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Jewish tradition has incorporated 4 cups of wine into the Passover celebration to remember these promises of God, who never forsakes or forgets His promises to His Chosen People.
When you study the Feasts of Israel you will discover there are 7 which is the number of completion and perfection, just like our 7 day week. What you will also discover is Jesus died on the cross on Passover, the 1st feast. This was for the Jewish people to remember the 1st Passover in Egypt when the Angel of Death passed over the doors painted with the lamb’s blood. Jesus was called by John the Baptist the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. How by spilling his blood to cover us so the "death angel" cannot separate us from God the Father for all eternity. During this feast there is a dinner called a Seder where the 4 cups of wine served.
The 1st cup served is called The Cup of Sanctification. (I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians) Then the Afikomen (matzah bread prepared without yeast, holes and stripes) comes to this feast in a bag with 3 compartments. It is the middle piece that is broken with ½ returned to the bag and the 2nd ½ wrapped in linen and hidden. After the meal the children go to find the piece of broken matzah bread and the leader of the Seder then pays the one who found the bread with a gold coin. Afikomen is a Greek word that means, ‘I came’.
The 2nd cup is called The Cup of Deliverance. (I will free you from being slaves to the Egyptians and their false gods through the 10 plagues.)
The 3rd cup is called The Cup of Redemption. (I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment) This is the cup Christians celebrate as Communion. For the previous 2000 years since the 1st exodus from Egypt this cup was lifted blessed then set back down on the table and never consumed. When Jesus celebrated his last supper with his disciples he chose this cup to change the Seder. Luke 22:14-20. And 1st Corinthians 11:25. When Jesus told the disciples to drink this cup, this was fulfillment of the creation of the new covenant. The promise of the seal of the Holy Spirit to come. The age of grace, the forgiveness of sins by the perfect Lamb of God, His only Son, our Brother and Friend-Jesus.
The 4th cup is called The Cup of Acceptance or Anticipation or Elijah who came to prepare the way for the LORD which we know was fulfilled by John the Baptist. When Israel recognizes and proclaims Jesus as their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10) is when this cup will be fulfilled, that’s when the LORD will take them to be His people. Hosea 2:23b.
The 2nd Feast is called the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It happened the very next day the 2nd day. This is the time that the Jewish people were told to not eat anything with leaven in it. Jesus compared leaven to sin. When Jesus was buried it was on this feast. Jesus was without sin.
The 3rd feast is The Feast of First Fruits. This was on the third day. This was when the Jewish people were to pick the first stalks of the barley harvest and wave them before the LORD in thankfulness to a bountiful harvest to come. Jesus arose from the grave on the third day. Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:20 said that Jesus arose from the dead the first fruits of those who have died. Jesus was the 1st to arise from the grave and He is waiting for the bountiful harvest that he has commanded us to bring in by telling others the gospel message. Matthew 12:39-40 no signs for the wicked and adulterous except for the prophet Jonah who spent 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of a huge fish. So the Son of Man will spend 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.
The 4th feast is called The Feast of the Harvest. This was when the crops were available and the Jewish people were to make 2 wave loaves of bread made with leaven in them called wave loaves. When the Holy Spirit came on this Feast it was to offer the seal to the workers in the fields still working for the Great Harvest in the fall. This also celebrates the giving if the LAW to the Israelites in the desert and where the Gentiles were included, or grafted in as His Children.
The 5th Feast is called the Feast of Trumpets and was used by the Jewish people to celebrate that Isaac was saved because of the rams horn caught in a thicket. They also used the horns to indicate the new moon which kept their religious calendar, the also used the horns to call people to the tabernacle, to warn of danger, and for marking of the celebrations or feasts. At this feast the shofar (rams’ horn) is blown 100 times. Joel 2:23 tells of the rains for the harvest both the spring and the fall. This feast as well as the next 2 are in the fall usually our September or October. This is referenced in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 when Paul stated the LORD will descend from heaven with the trumpet call of God & the dead in Christ will rise 1st & then those believers still alive caught up (raptured) to meet the LORD in the air.
The 6th Feast called Day of Atonement. This was for the Jewish people to look back on the past year and consider all the sins they had committed and to 'atone' for them by confessing their sins.
The 7th Feast is called Tabernacles and was for the Jewish people to remember the passage of the Israelite's 40 year journey in the desert where the LORD cared for them, fed them manna, and water from the rock. At this7 day feast where they were to build temporary tents with sticks and branches and live in it. This was and is a joyous feast with all kinds of food, dancing, with family and friends.
After reading about the 7 feasts consider the Ancient Jewish 7 Day Wedding Customs. Many marriages were arranged by parents from the time the children were infants, like Sampson's father did for him. The 2nd would be someone working on behalf of the father like Eliezer did for Abraham choosing for Isaac. The 3rd would be when the young man chooses his bride for himself. The 1st thing he would do would be to go the home of the potential bride-to-be with 3 things: a large sum of money, a betrothal contract, and a skin of wine. The young man would approach the girls' father and older brothers and would lay out the contract and the bride price would be discussed and a glass of wine would be poured. If the father approved, the potential bride would be called in, she would read the contract and if she approved of the wedding the wine would be poured out and consumed, they would sign the contract which signified the contract was now a legal document. From this time they would be known as husband and wife and could not be separated except by divorce, their status was betrothed and not fully married. From the time the contract was ratified the young woman the bride was consecrated…set apart to her husband. She had been bought with a bride price and would spend her time preparing herself to be a wife. Her days of waiting until the consummation would be spent learning how to please her husband and inviting those she wanted to be with her at her wedding. At this time the young man would return to his father's house and prepare a room for her, which would provide every comfort at great expense. Neither the groom nor the bride knew the date of their wedding, because it was the custom that the father of the groom to decide when the room was ready for the bride and the groom had to have his father’s permission to go and collect his bride and all those she had invited. The groom would have 2 friends go with him to get his bride and they were also witnesses required for the Jewish wedding. One friend was assigned to get the bride and lead her to the ceremony and the other would stay with the groom. During the ceremony the contract was brought out and witnessed by the friends of the bridegroom and the contract then turned over to the parents of the bride. This contract contained the promises the groom pledged to his wife. The ceremony is centered on the bride & groom looking like king & queen and every effort and every possible expense is made to ensure their joy, for on this day tradition says that their sins are forgiven and they stand pure, without spot or blemish…they are united. Following the ceremony they enter the specially prepared room where the groom gives gifts to his bride. The friend of the groom stands at the door…all the guests wait until they hear the friend of the bridegroom announce the consummation of the marriage. There is great rejoicing and a weeklong celebration when the couple emerges then the actual 7 day wedding feast begins.
John 18:36-37 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place” “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
Then Jesus drank the wine sealing the contract. We the church are called the bride of Christ. Read Psalm 45 and think of Jesus the groom and the church his bride. Read Isaiah 61:10-62:5 keeping in mind the bride and groom dressed in their finery. Paul said that the Messiah's death on the cross that paid for our sins was the same as the young man paying the bride price. 1 Corinthians 6:20 "you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your body." & 1 Corinthians 7:23 "You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.”
Jesus said at Passover to the disciples, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:2-3)
In Acts 1:7 Jesus said to the disciples, "It is not for you to know to the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority." And Matthew 24:36 says, "No one know about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Matthew 25:13 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
However, Luke 21:20-31 states that when you see the signs in the sun, moon and stars, take notice because when these things begin to take place, stand up, lift your heads because your redemption is drawing near. Look at the fig trees & when they sprout leaves you can see for yourself that summer is near. Even so when you see these things happening you know that the Kingdom of God is near.
In John 3:29 John explains his role as the friend of the bridegroom, "The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That job is mine, and it is now complete."
Finally, in Revelation 19:6b-9, after the rapture and we are sitting at the wedding feast table listen to what John recorded as our hope from our Savior, "Hallelujah! For our LORD God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding for the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear, (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' And he added, “These are the true words of God." Listen to the Christmas song Joy to the World. We will be singing this at this time.
The 1st 3 spring feasts have been fulfilled when Jesus was on earth, the 4th spring feast was fulfilled when the Holy Spirit came. There is no such thing as coincidences with God. He has planned Plan A in eternity past. The next 3 fall feasts will be fulfilled soon. I pray you've read the entirety of this post and if you didn't know any of this that you will take the time to research it for yourself. And I pray if you are not a believer that you will ask Jesus to live within you tonight. Don't wait too long...its August, 2017 the 50th year since June 1967. This is called the last Jubilee, in Leviticus 25:8-13; 23; 54-55. This is when the Israelites returned to their land and redeemed it, all debts are canceled, and all slavery is ended. I wanted you to know that this year the Feast of Trumpets falls on the 21st of September 2017. The solar eclipse that is to cover the entire United States this article on it from a Jewish perspective is VERY INTERESTING. www.unsealed.org/.../the-divine-message-of-august...
I believe (Nahum 1:3) that God uses his creation to tell those who are watching for his return to get ready to go. (Luke 21:28) Also read Joel. Consider the Magi who came from the east. They knew to look to the sky for the signs that the LORD was giving them to find the Messiah born in Bethlehem. And Nahum 1:3. The LORD is slow to anger & great in power. The LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm and the clouds are the dust of his feet. The LORD uses his creation to discipline, warn and destroy those who do not know Him. John 3:17-21. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God. Romans 1:16-32. Don’t think you can fool God and not suffer his wrath. Matthew 12:33-35 For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks, men will have to give an account for every careless word they have spoken, for by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned.
I have had visions-seeing lava break out of the ground all around my house in Indiana constantly coming faster and faster with nowhere to escape, I live in FL now. And in dreams-I do not sleep walk yet in a dream I saw the LORD standing in front of me with his arms out towards me His face was a bright light and I heard his voice. At that I woke up sitting in my bed with my hands spread out palms up worshiping the LORD. As a child my mother had a mirror on the wall and I could see terrible monstrous animal like things coming out of it and it was so dark. The animals would be slashing with claws and had huge bloody teeth for biting, this was a place I never want to go to. I believe this was a picture of hell, a real and terrible place separated from God and his Light and Truth. I believe I even experienced a visit from an angel, who stated that he had been looking for me for 3 months because he had to give me a blessing from Yeshua. Angels are NOT omniscient, or omnipresent, or omnipotent. He stood on my front porch and asked if he could pray for me. I agreed. He prayed for me, IN HEBREW, and I understood his words. God sent him to bless me, to protect me, and to fill me with His knowledge through His Spirit. When he stepped off the porch he walked east, crossed the street and disappeared physically gone in an instant. He was not seen again. While many will not want to believe me, my heart is skipping just knowing the fall feasts for Israel are coming. The unbelievers will be Nabal’s and will be fooled into believing the liar. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; 5-12. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion (when America’s economy is destroyed) occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. Now you know what is holding him back (the HOLY SPIRIT) so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work (like the secret underground US Government and a former presidents wife wanting to be a minister?); but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the LORD Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
Any time could be our rapture. I believe that the twin towers was the beginning of the end of America, (read the Harbinger by John Cain and The End of America by John Price) that Katrina the hurricane was to warn that God still does not approve of deliberate sin (but will forgive with true repentance 1 John 1:9), I also believe that this eclipse is another warning sign for those who are wise in His Word and know like the Magi to be ready to go. I have been ridiculed by religious leaders as being fanatical being told I have no idea what I’m talking about. That the Old Testament is not relevant for Christians in America today. I tried to explain that this book was given to the Jewish people to be the light and leadership for the Gentiles. This is not to be interpreted from an American point of view. It is a Jewish Book, written for and by them. We gentiles have been grafted into the family and must understand God His way and not the American point of view. At this I was told he would have to disagree with me. The teachers in the day when Jesus taught refused to listen to him, The Son of God standing right in front of them and they still could not ‘see’. Jesus chose the lowly shepherds to bring the news of his birth to the world. Jesus chose the fishermen to spread his word not the wealthy or the most knowledgeable but those with open willing hearts to love and obey HIM. I am just a high school educated mother with no letters behind my name, nothing to bring attention to me, no accomplishments that make me outstanding. But Jesus has chosen me to know Him & understand that our time is nearly gone. My salvation has NOTHING to do with what I have done or not done. It only has to do with what Jesus has done. John 19:30. Jesus’ 3 words, “IT IS FINISHED.” What is it? The will of his father to complete the work he was sent here to do, then he gave up his spirit willingly. After his resurrection 3 days later he appeared to many people (eye witnesses) who also laid down their lives to spread the truth. Why would they die unless they had seen, heard, touched & was loved by Jesus himself. After Jesus ascended into heaven what did he do? He sat down at the right hand of God the Father. Jesus is our High Priest. When the Jewish system through the Levites was created to have a high priest to do the sacrifices for the people their work was never done. Day after day the high priest stood and sacrificed animals on behalf of the people. Jesus said his work was finished and he sat down. He has now completed his mansion for us with many rooms, the table is set with the finest, the flowers are in the vases, and the ice cubes are in our water glasses. Are you ready to celebrate the Wedding Supper of the Lamb in your white robe and crowns?
