I am very selfish….
I really, really want the rapture to happen this year …. Preferably in the next few weeks …..
I am really tired of learning every couple days of more massive killings – from full out terrorist attacks, to crazy mobs that believe their point of view is correct and if you do not agree with them you deserve punched, kicked and possibly even killed; to crazy individuals – who decided shooting everyone around them would be a cool thing to do. Why does it seem that here in the States (at least) that violence is the “be all” answer for everything?
Why is it that here in the States, people (or their loved ones) can become so sick that they cannot afford treatment – and the best option is to kick them to the curb and say let the Charity Groups cover their expenses.
This list can grow on and on …..
I am ready to be taken out of here – which is a very selfish attitude – cause it means I give up; I do not want to deal with any more of this crap – because of this fallen world.
But if my beliefs are correct; “darker days” are coming for the world. Yes, eventually, it will all work out and God will usher in a thousand years – “of rightness”. BUT before that time comes – there are going to be several years of very BAD TIMES.
“For in those days there will be tribulation unmatched from the beginning of God’s creation until now, and never to be seen again.”
So I selfishly want OUT of here ……..
Is that wrong? Should my desire be to stay, and pray for all the people going through a literal HELL on earth? I say pray – because that is all I can do … I cannot stop what is coming --

It might be a selfish desire in some ways, but I think all Believers should desire to be with the Lord (I want to get out of here, too!). I'm reminded of Philippians 1:23. Even Paul wanted OUT:
"I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better."
And also 2 Corinthians 5:8:
"We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

Near the end there are some example of selfishnes in the bible taught by Jesus:
Matthew 25:6-9 New International Version (NIV)
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
The wise virgins could have share with un-wised virgins but they said no.
Luke 21:34-36 New International Version (NIV)
34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Jesus taught to pray from yourself at the time of the end.

Yep, I understand.
I'm tired. Physically tired, tired of how people treat each other, tired of innocents being killed, tired of false teachers, etc, etc. Tired. I want to go Home.
I had worship music on this evening while I made supper. That always helps redirect my focus.

Me too.
I distract myself by trying to get 3 sets of gear together so that someone who is left behind can use them.
It is going to be absolute chaos - pandemonium when the harpazo occurs.

Well i thought I was kind of alone in feeling that way, hoping we go before September closes out. I do often think about those who wont make the 'cut' and think I'm being selfish. We cant change the course God has set, only pray for others to have their course corrected.

Couldn't agree more. I also know that my desire for it to happen now influences my belief that it will, yet I still believe it will. I did a blog to share with people I know. Have had 1 response to it. Here it is... for feedback, or for anyone else to share. I'm more of a reader than a video watcher, so I made it to put in print the basics and perhaps motivate someone to investigate further. It's at www.LoveNeighbor.com

I guess you can count me in on the frustration. We don't even have the TV on anymore. Every piece of "news" is distorted and twisted (yes, even FAUX News,) evil is manifesting exponentially, our country's morals are shot and even well grounded teens-to-20-somethings are siding with the insanity going on around the country with the removal of our monuments.
Yes, I want to get out of this world. As one recently said, "the only way out of this mess is UP." As much as all this causes me daily angst that makes me want to get out of Dodge yesterday, I just long to be with Jesus. Not only as an escape but to finally be with my Savior when all things will be made right.
Evenso, come Lord Jesus!

Couldn't agree more. I am "selfishly" waiting for His return as well. So many people are so busy with their lives and earthly things but what baffles my mind is that some believers totally dismiss all of this without even spending time to fact check it. I have been trying to show more love so that it opens up opportunities to share the gospel but I have accepted that it is all In God's timing and that we have to move on and keep preaching!

kjs,
Crazy that you started this thread and thank you for being open and vulnerable to us. I say, Crazy, because during the eclipse I was going through similar feelings. In my communication with the Lord, I was saying, "Lord, I want to be with you. I want to serve you by your side. But I can't imagine the horror / confusion / sense of hopelessness that those on earth will be experiencing (assuming a large portion of the Body is taken out). They will need a light. They will need to hear the truth. They will need a messenger. If this is your desire - if this is the cross you wish me to bear, not my will but yours."
Could it even be possible that many of us are coming to this mindset? Could it be that this IS the victory?
Greater love has no man than he who lays down his life for a friend. And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto death.
Could it be that through our willingness to give up "the rapture" and serve our fellow man, that victory can be claimed?
If so, then let it start with me and may God grant me the grace to give him the victory.
