I wasn’t reluctant to write this at first but then the Lord put this unto my heart to share it anyway.
When I was joining this forum I expected to find like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ who walk in the same spirit as I do. Unfortunately, many see the Lord who is quick to judge rather the one who is full of mercy, compassion, grace and truth. The response by many to ungodly rejecting Jesus is the same as John and James had when they found out that Samaria didn’t receive Jesus. They wanted to command fire to come down from heaven and consume the ungodly. But Jesus turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.”
James and John still had an old covenant spirit of slavery and they saw the Lord as the One who is quick to judge and punish the unrighteous. But when a believer has a new covenant spirit of sonship he sees the Lord as the loving Father who wants to feed and enjoy fellowship with His children. Father didn’t send the prodigal son to the “mission” field, and didn’t even allowed his son to ask him to be his servant. He hugged his son, keep on kissing him, never reminded of his sins, clothed him, put shoes on his feet, gave the son his ring, commanded His servants (Jews) to kill the fatted calf (Jesus) and invited to the house to eat and be merry.
God is love and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son… We should talk more about His love for us rather than our love for Him which is the Law and the first great commandment of Moses or even our love for one another. The love for one another isn’t our effort at all but it’s the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is the Lord who by His Spirit continues to love us and trough us.
Yes, I know about the coming day of the Lord and the wrath of God, but even Isaiah when he was talking about the day of vengeance he didn’t say that it’s about God’s anger and punishment on the ungodly. It really marvels me that Isaiah being the old testament prophet and living under the Law of Moses had this great knowledge of the Lord, of His mercy, His compassion and His grace. And that’s how he described the coming day of vengeance: “To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
The Lord doesn’t get any glory in judgement, but He gets all the glory and praise in salvation, in comforting, in encouragement, in giving us righteousness and Spirit of joy and asking nothing in return. That is my Lord and my God.
I judge no one here for the lack of knowledge of the Lord but rather pray for every thirsty soul that the Father of all mercies will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know the real Jesus who is full of grace and truth.
