I am a curious soul by nature; I love to explore and learn. However, this curiosity has caused me to research some not so good stuff.
They are:
Remote Viewing
Astral Projection
Transcendental Meditation
Spellcasting
Alchemy
Voodoo
Hoodoo
I was never stupid enough to try it; I just learned about them. I can tell you they are evil though and through. Don't try them, and don't research them. Satan will try to nab you anywhere. i research remote viewing to get a look at Jupiter, before learning that all majic, at it's heart, is seeking supernatural, yet demonic power. Trying to petition any other source of power is a dangerous game that only fools play. Don't walk down that road.

I never looked into any of that, but I had to do some looking into guided mediation. That's the stuff that will help you find a spirit guide if you mess too much with it. A teacher at my daughter's school was doing this with her kindergarten students (along with yoga). Kindergarten! This teacher had then been hired to teach physical education the next year. I went to the principal about it. Later, I was glad to find out I wasn't the only one that was concerned. She was told she could not do any of the mediation or breathing exercises. It's not stuff to be messing with, and I worry about those little kids. I'm also thankful that I didn't have to research it too deeply -- that stuff creeps me out.

Access Bars/Access Consciousness should be added to the list. I have a friend heavily into it and before I fully committed to Christ, I went to have my bars run. God spoke to me before I went telling me not to go, but I went anyways. Thankfully, he was with me and I called the session to a halt only partway through. Since then, I have strengthened my faith in Jesus and am now certain that there is no other path than though him.
We need to always be aware of what is spiritually trying to sway us away or our children from the true faith.
My daughter has done yoga and has been witness to some spiritual shenanigans such as making worry dolls at school to tell your worries to. It will be hard going forward to keep her grounded as she hasn't had the spiritual struggles that has plagued her brother. He has told me he hears voices but they are less powerful now that he has accepted Christ into his life. Sadly, I don't think they have gone away but we pray often for him to have the strength though Christ to know what is right and true and to not do what the voices tell him to (talked about suicide at 8/ took razor blades to school at 9)

The enemy is very powerful, but he really is most powerful when we give him a base of operations in our life. Cast out every stronghold of the enemy--anything he can get you with.
I have enough voices in my head without going looking for more--thankfully I can usually tell whose voice I'm listening to--Friend or fiend-- At least once I was arguing with one.
Since being on Unsealed and accepting the truth of the Revelation 12 sign, the Lord has spoken to more through His Word than audibly, but there was a while where audible voices and serious dreams were an ongoing thing with me.
I studied the occult when I was in my early 20's. I regret studying it, even from a supposedly Christian perspective--I was spiritually attacked and responded poorly to it for many years.

Yes Jim, it's so important to protect ourselves and families from portals of evil. Early on in my youth "Cosmopolitan" magazine was in my home. I later realized how much inegativity it brought into my life fostering inadequacy of who I was and thought processes that were definitely of the world. I go back now being older, and understanding the word 'cosmopolitan' and know that if my parents had been led of the spirit, the name alone of the magazine should've been enough for them to remove it from our home.

I just read these posts on the occult and found them helpful as I have a friend who is "spiritual."
We connected as new widows about a year ago. I know she' heavily into new age, and consults an ascended master (I think)
Anita previously belonged to the church universal triumphant here in MT.
As a vegan, she only eats raw food.
We go shopping every week, so we've had many hours together.
She knows I'm a Christian and looking for the Lord's return.
I gave her a bible, encouraged her to read the book of John...
Truthfully, I have NO idea where to go in our friendship. She's very isolated with no TV but does have a computer.
I enjoy Anita as a neighbor. We laugh and share a common bond as widows.
Only the Holy Spirit can do a work here. Ironically, it's easier talking with her about spiritual things than with unchurched people.
Anyway, thanks for making this post available.
God has His reason for putting us together, but I have no idea why!

Had a racy thought. I wonder if they can ask something evil of their "master". Might be a good talking point- for our Lord will not honor such a request.

He covers a lot of topics and is probably the greatest apologist I have ever heard. truthfully I have a hard time following him as he is quite brilliant and some of his terms dont make sense to me. In any event, I suggest searching some of his material as his approach to things has helped me relate to various types of people and their beliefs. All of which can be soundly "defeated" through the wisdom of the Lord |
