Some maps like this one show most of the fault activity significantly under the merge (see upper right corner -- Cario)... ...Others like this one just give a wide range of area -- which places the merge of the rivers about in the middle of the Fault zone... Fascinating. The second pic shows that Cairo is in the zone. The first pic shows a sequence of quakes moving northeast. Noting the sequence of quakes from [1] to [5]; and sketching a coefficient of determination line to connect them all (a line that marks the average distance differences between each of the points - a 'best fit' line - cuz we all know these quakes are related to each other), there is no data showing the fault couldn't continue north of location [5]; Therefore, there could very well be an earthquake with the epicenter at Cairo. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coefficient_of_determination

It is very close. Just a few miles away. As the saying goes -- close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades........ In my neck of the woods, we say, "Close only counts for horseshoes, hand grenades, and nuclear bombs." But earthquakes count, too. Let's not forget that in the 1811-1812 series of earthquakes at the New Madrid Fault, the course of the Mississippi river was changed permanently. All an earthquake has to do is be close, and it can affect everything around it and rearrange the landscape forever.

This was a good video, watchmanjim! I'm so glad you posted it! I was particularly amazed by 2 pictures he displayed in the program:
1. The frightening image in the video at the 51:50 mark. Looks like a great part of my corner of the country will be under sea water!
2. The picture of salvation at the 52:09 time mark. I'm so glad Jesus loves me!

Guess we'll find out! I'm very curious what the outlines of the continents will look like 10 years from now.
