We have a parakeet and a turtle. Not sure yet what we'll do about the turtle, but I think we can leave a lot of water in the house and maybe some food out for the bird when we think the end is getting near, and leave his cage door just barely propped shut. So that any earthquakes or impact to the house, or if he gets desperately rowdy in his cage, will allow the door to pop open. Then he can get out into the house and fly around and find the water and food we can leave out for him. as for the turtle, I'm not sure. I'm considering carving a treasure clue on his shell, so that, alive or dead, he can be a clue to where they can dig for the stuff I bury. That is a fantastic idea. Especially if you can let him roam around in your back yard freely...

Brethren, please remember that God is one of endless means. He opened the prison doors, rolled the stone away, he brought the people out of their graves, he raises the dead to life, he heals the sick, makes the lame to walk, he makes the blind to see, he makes the mountains to fall and the world to pass away. Thus...
He loves us, his children and knows our hearts. He'll open the doors, and handle all our cares. Trust that he loves all things more than us - he gave them to us! He'll handle it all - lay them at His feet.

Thank you, truthseeker! I'd give you 10 thumbs up for that encouragement if I could!

I sometimes think about it too, like what will I be in the middle of doing if and when the rapture happens? I am the fire starter in my house, we use a wood stove to supplement our heat in winter, I use a torch to start the fire, I always make a point not to use the switch that keeps the torch lit, but hold it down with my finger, thinking that I wouldn't want the torch to burn the house down if the rapture happens while I am starting a fire, isn't that silly?
I also have a cat and have wondered about her too. I just pray that somehow the Lord would take care of her, maybe by sending someone to my house if it's even still standing. I imagine that the unsaved who are still around and who live nearby will be helping themselves to what's left, so perhaps they might set my cat free inadvertently.
In any case we won't be looking back.....

I do think about this too...not that we know the minute or hour but to consider that it very well could happen the 23rd has me wondering where I'll be at that afternoon (here on the east coast). I also wonder what will become of my things, but also think (or remind myself) why would i care. I also ponder the thought of "will i even think about earth again". Every time I think "probably not"

I plan on leaving as many canned goods and useful things at the house, having the electric bill, water bill, and internet bill paid up, so maybe--just maybe--the looters will be able to still find some good food in the freezers if the power's still on. It's all good. They can have it. And I have a few plans to bury some useful things 3-feet deep in the yard, with possible clues how to find them, so that fire, flood, and electro-magnetic pulse will hopefully not destroy them.
