Earth is immovable and there is no vastness of space

Round Earth, science is correct on the cosmos. I refuse to debate this. I'm not saying the government is perfect, but come on guys. Use reason. No conspiracy theories; science and God are complementary.

Could you please explain, mathematically, and within the laws of physics how retrograde motion works for a flat earth theory? 

As I am sure you are aware, the subjective appearance of one object with respect to another object is, in current physics models, is explained using inertial frames of reference (Coriolis effect, et c.). However, for those mathematical models to work, they require the earth (the subjective point of reference) to be moving relative to the observed space object (such as Jupiter retrograding in Virgo).

For a flat earth model to work, it must have mathematical models for its physical laws.  Could you please post and explain them?

Because if you can't provide mathematical models for flat earth physical laws, maybe you might consider that the 'translation' of the communication of some concepts by the Creator to his 'secretary' (of the passages of scripture to which you refer), might be such that they do not translate well to the language (whichever one it is) of men. That is to say, the words you are reading are a very poor description of how the cosmos (and also the earth) was structurally fabricated.

In fact, isn't it possible that the passage refers to a multidimensional (at least 10, and I bet it is 12) cosmos that we can only perceive in 4 dimensions? Our reasonably advanced mathematics (engineering, physics) can calculate using up to 7 dimensions (remember imaginary numbers?  That gives us 3 in addition to the usual 4 we routinely work with.)

Have you heard of the analogy where a 2 dimensional being tries to perceive a 3 dimensional object, and by what mechanisms they may do so?

Yes, I can see from a mathematical and computer modeling scenario how his conclusions could be drawn. I wish I could hear a technical explanation of his attempting to analogize, in our feeble language, an explanation in 4 dimensions for a 10+ dimensional reality.

I could give a simplistic analogy of how and why and the problems with analog versus digital measurements. IMHO, its quite fascinating when applied to a number of topics, not the least of which is the measurement of Time (which appears to be a property of gravity).

The only way it would be possible for the earth to be flat, would be if the star-studded sky were to appear to bend overhead to compensate for our traveling on the earth. If you are familiar with the operation of a sextant (or a mounted telescope, for that matter), you know how a star, such as the north star, or the sun, for that matter, can be used in determining one's latitude in the earth. Sea captains for nearly 300 years have used the sextant, and for nearly 700 years, the astrolabe, to measure the angle of heavenly bodies to determine their latitude. They clearly observed, at least since Columbus's time, that the whole sky of stars tilted as they went north or south. Isaac Newton and others made clear calculations to make it possible to determine where one was by latitude and longitude. Thousands, if not millions, of sea captains, and later, aircraft pilots, could attest to the curvature of the earth by various means. Aircraft and ships today travel by the "great circle route" whenever possible, while travelling long distances, for the purpose of saving time and fuel. I myself have flown on a flight from Newark New Jersey, to Tokyo, over Hudson Bay and northern Alaska. I also flew from Los Angeles to Beijing, China, and flew over southern Alaska, following the great circle route. BELIEVE me, pilots and airlines would never fly over such desolate places if it weren't the shortest route. Every pilot in the sky can tell you that the earth is round because all the charts and navigational devices are made to operate on the round globe, and they all work flawlessly in the globe concept. Every nation, every airline, every shipping company knows the truth of this. Every historical voyage and flight can be traced around the globe. If the earth isn't spherical, then God did backflips to make it look and act like it is.

What we are left with is two things. The scriptures that make the references quoted here fall into two categories.

1. It is describing a physical accuracy, but we are not understanding or interpreting properly what is meant by it. I think this is often the case.
2. It is using well-understood figures of speech, and idiomatically understood visual or conceptual realities. I think this is clearly also often the case.

One of the most common ones is to say that "the sun came up." Well, no it didn't, the earth turned, which made it look like the sun came up. But it doesn't make it a lie to say that the sun came up. It only means that in an idiomatic and apparent sense, it is true. Because, to the perspective of our eye, yes, the sun came up. This is also found in other areas of life. Like where people in the Bible speak of death as "sleep." In most cases, we understand that when somebody "slept with his fathers" that means he died. But it is because a dead body looks like it is asleep. This is probably why the mourning crowd mocked Jesus when He said the girl was only sleeping, because there was an idiomatic word-play going on, and they realized He actually meant sleep, not death. But He did mean that, in that case, which was a highly unusual thing.

We have many many figures of speech in English. Using them does not make us liars. The same is true in Hebrew and Greek.

Now I suppose it's possible that an actual live animal with seven heads and ten horns will rise out of the Mediterranean Sea shortly, but I'm pretty sure that's symbolic of something else too.

God does not lie when He uses figures of speech and idiomatic expressions. It only shows that He uses the language of man to describe things to man.

Please let's not get too carried away with these things. God is not a liar, and neither are all the people who navigate the globe according to its spherical shape.
It is fine to explore the possibilities, but it is easy to let this kind of thing get out of hand.

Kinda sounds that way...since I dont have much to offer in terms of technical explanation (yardstick can handle that), I can only offer what my mind tells me. If the earth is flat, whats underneath it? If the "universe" is not seemingly endless, where does it end? If the earth is not round, how do you explain the weather patterns? I could go on and on with the 'next question' but I think I'm bailing out of this one. I completely agree with Watchman Jim's well explained and thought out reasonings
