I trust everyone who reads this is prepared for the upcoming Christmas celebrations. We here, are as ready as we can be and still hopeful and watching for the Coming of our Lord to meet us in the clouds.
I have had some recent bad news about my health and would appreciate it if you could add us to your prayer list. I have been receiving treatment for skin cancer for the past 10 years and last month one of my lymph glands swelled up after a brief illness. It never went back down and after several doctors' visits, I ended up having a biopsy of the gland which came back as having cancer cells in it. I am fortunate that I live within a two-hour drive of Johns Hopkins and will be going up there this Friday Dec. 22nd for additional testing and whatever treatment is prescribed. It's entirely possible that we have caught it early enough that it hasn't had a chance to spread yet. They have come a long way in treatment for this particular type of cancer so we are hopeful and reliant on the Lord, as we should be.
Thanks and God Bless.

Praying for you, brother. That's heavy news. I'm always hesitant to share this with friends struggling with cancer given that they are often already familiar with these things, but I would be remiss not to: PDQ/PSK/Turkey Tail mushrooms. There is some actual science behind their effectiveness: www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/hp/mushrooms-pdq#:~:text=versicolor%2C%20is%20an%20approved%20mushroom,patients%20since%20the%20mid%2D1970s. Also, cancer cells are generally (not always, but usually) unable to process ketones, whereas normal cells can process both glucose and ketones. In other words, restricting sugar and sticking with meat, dairy, cheese, and high-fat/low-sugar foods can help a lot: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6375425/#:~:text=When%20glucose%20is%20scarce%2C%20the,do%20not%20benefit%20cancer%20cells.

Thanks Gary. I had heard that cutting out sugars was important and am doing my best. It's a terrible time of year to do that. I hadn't heard about the Turkey Tail mushrooms in particular, but I do know that mushrooms in general are a healthy addition to any diet. As it happens, I love mushrooms and will check these out. Thanks to everyone for their prayers. The doctor at Johns Hopkins has confirmed the diagnosis of cancer but wasn't happy about the tests and their interpretation so, I need a couple of more tests before they can determine what kind of cancer I have. They need to know that before they can outline a plan of attack.
Please keep in your prayers.
