Call to Repentance

Joel 2:12-13


"Yet even now," declares the LORD,

"Return to Me with all your heart,

And with fasting, weeping, and mourning;

And rend your heart and not your garments."

Now return to the LORD your God,

For He is gracious and compassionate,

Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness…"


To our Nation


As we in this nation prepare to celebrate the goodness of the blessings God has bestowed on us for 247 years, let us take stock inwardly with eyes that see and ears that hear what our spiritual condition is in this beautiful country that we love.

Our nation that we love is in trouble, America. We have turned aside from the teachings of the Lord and bought into the notion that social programs and laws can correct our course. These things have failed us. Our only hope is in God.

Will God hear a people that refuse to repent and admit their sin? No. God is a perfect and holy God and He cannot ignore sin, and we, as a nation, have sinned against Him.

The first step to righting this country is to come before our merciful and kind God and admit that we have sinned against Him and repent, turn from our rebellion against Him and seek His face and begin walking with Him.

With that in mind, I'm putting forth a call for a day of repentance, individually, and as a country, to ask for God's forgiveness with fasting and mourning tomorrow, Monday, July 3rd.

I know that not everybody will be able to participate because of the short notice and the plans that are in motion, but if you can't participate, please lift up this country in prayer before Almighty God. He loves us still, and He will forgive if we are sorrowful for our sin as an individual, as a city, as a nation. Who knows what the Lord will do?

Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD"
