I've been thinking that it would be a great time for some of us to meet each other if we meet up to view the eclipse on August 21. Some of us, like myself, and Whatif, live in the pathway of it. Others may live not too far away. Others may like to travel to view it. I would like to suggest that as many of us as possible who live in or near the path of the eclipse should organize to meet up with any participants to this site who may wish to come from out of town and see it. I will be glad to serve as team-lead for the Greenville, South Carolina area. If you live in the eclipse path and feel a little daunted by the thought of hosting an event to include people you;ve never actually met before, don't worry, nobody said you had to actually hold it at your house, or anything like that! There are many public places where people will be gathered for the viewing, and I suggest meeting up in a place like that. That's probably what we will do here. For those of you from out-of-town, if you can travel, start making your plans now! I know I'd love to meet any of you who come here to view it, though naturally somewhere out in the deserts of Oregon might be more guaranteed not to be cloudy. I don't know just yet exactly where we will meet, but I'm working on that, probably in a park or university campus or possibly at the gathering at the local science center. Either way, let's make a day of it! Anyone willing to be a host / organizer please make yourself known, and anyone who thinks it's likely they could travel to see the eclipse, let us know, too!

I can't meet anywhere for the eclipse; I'll just have to wait for the Rapture to see you guys!

Watchmanjim, that is such a great idea, and I wish I could take part! I've got plans already underway for the day with my family, but I'd love to use the forum Shoutbox to stay connected as much as possible with everyone here as the morning unfolds. It would be so awesome to get everyone's thoughts and observations as the eclipse occurs!

No problem, as I said, anybody who wants to come to Greenville, it's a great place for east coast people to see it. Probably not as hot as Charleston or Columbia, either.

I'm probably not going to make it up to where the total eclipse occurs, but if anyone is in the Dallas area, Greg, Jeff, and I do get together from time to time for bbq and a good prophecy discussion.
