Hi All,
I haven't posted here in a while, but I just made some observations that I wanted to put out there for other watchmen and watchwomen. Take everything with a grain of salt.
In recent years I have become more aware of the symbolism of the morning star and how it may be a symbol of the pre-tribulation rapture. Jesus promises the overcoming church that he will give them the morning star in Revelation 2:28. The idea is that the morning star rises before the sun just as the church rises before the second coming. We get to experience the glory of God before the rest of the world sees Jesus in the full brightness of his coming at the end of the tribulation represented by the sun.
Revelation 2:28 does not necessarily require that the rapture happen when Venus is in its morning phase, but if it were in its morning phase when the rapture happened, that would seem fitting. As a consequence, I have started observing when Venus is in the morning sky.
Currently as of January 2023 it is in the evening sky. It will begin to emerge in the morning sky in late August. Interestingly, it will reach its brightest in the morning sky on September 18, 2023, the day after Rosh Hashanah which lasts from September 15-17.
I am not one who thinks the rapture must happen on Rosh Hashanah, but I do think that is a fair possibility to consider. When I looked up the stats on Venus for 2023 and saw how closely it aligns with Rosh Hashanah it got my attention. If hypothetically we were raptured on, say, September 17, that would mean our first day in heaven, September 18, would be the day that Venus is at its brightest in the morning sky! What an appropriate day for Jesus to give us the morning star!
Revelation 2
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
Venus will remain in the morning sky after that until June 2024, but will not be as bright again as it will be on September 18 for the rest of that cycle. The next cycle runs from March 2025 to January 2026, but during that cycle the brightest appearance is April 24 which is not any obvious feast day (it falls during the week after Passover that year)
There are a lot of other reasons why a 2023-2030 timeframe looks compelling for the tribulation period. Gary talks about some of the reasons in his article on "The Final Four" and I have some additional reasons I think 2023-2030 makes sense which might be better suited for another thread. So if this is the time frame, and if the morning star is a clue, then perhaps we are looking at a September 2023 departure. I'd love to be wrong because it happens even sooner, but if we're still here as we approach the fall, then this is something to keep in mind.
