I had a prayer request going about my health struggle, but I think I can finally give praise to God that I am through it.
I had been feeling better but still having some acid reflux issues and on going anxiety. I don't know if I can explain the anxiety part, but pretty much every morning I would have anxiety attacks - not to the point of panic attacks though - and then I got to having what I called "background anxiety". Just kind of a constant nervous feeling. We tried a couple of different medicines and neither were working (one actually made it worse). The one that was working, Doctor didn't want me on long term. And I couldn't handle the side effects of every other medicine I tried for either problem.
A friend of mine suggested aloe vera juice for my tummy. The problem I found was that there is a lot of variation on the recommended amounts. I settled on trying 4 oz a day throughout the day. It has helped.
Then upon doing some searching online I found suggestions of a couple of amino acid supplements to try for the anxiety. One ended up giving me dizziness and headaches, but the other has worked amazingly. It got rid of the "background anxiety" after the first dose and has kept away the attacks.
I know God provides for us through doctors and modern medicine, and I am extremely thankful for the ones who have been taking care of me, but I also love that He has created things to help up also. And I am thankful for the internet where I can find information.

Praise God! I know this has been quite a rough road. I've been praying for you.
If this is not too personal... do you mind sharing what amino supplement you're taking? I've also struggled with that background anxiety (I'm clinically-diagnosed ADHD and also probably on the autism spectrum).
Thanks for the update sister.

I will gladly share if it will help someone else. The one that helped a lot is Glycine. It's a powder you mix into something to drink. (I bought the NOW brand) I just add it to my morning hot tea. The dosage is 1/4 to 3/4 a tsp daily. I read that some use 3/4 tsp about an hour before bed, and it helps with their sleep. I have found I only need 1/4 tsp in the morning. I also read that it is most helpful for anxiety/panic attacks, but not necessarily day to day anxiety. I'm guessing that means people who just generally worry about stuff or like public speaking anxiety. I am not normally an anxious person, but my husband is. He'll wake up in the night and just start thinking about everything. I guess we should see if it would help him. Side effects from larger doses are stomach ache, diarrhea, that kind of stuff. I read that it has been studied and considered safe for 8 weeks but hasn't really been studied for longer use. The other one I tried is l-theanine. It's actually in black and green tea. It's supposed to cause a feeling of relaxation without drowsiness. I can handle a cup or two of tea a day, but adding more of this gave me the weird dizzy headache feeling.
