The comment section is even better than the article.
Why are companies all over the world suddenly desperate for workers? In my entire life I have never seen anything like this. When the labor shortage started in the United States, a lot of people blamed overly generous government handouts, but that doesn’t explain why the exact same thing is happening in nation after nation all over the globe. There aren’t enough factory workers, there aren’t enough truck drivers, there aren’t enough port workers, there aren’t enough employees to properly staff our stores, and the shortage of doctors and nurses is becoming a major crisis in some areas. During normal times, we were always told that the global economy was not producing nearly enough jobs for everyone, but now for the very first time we are facing an enormous worldwide labor shortage. It is almost as if millions upon millions of people suddenly disappeared from the system.

tennessean, that's quite the rabbit hole once one starts clicking links to other articles. I've try to keep up on this stuff, but it still almost seems so far away from me being in western Kansas. Things here have not really changed at all. Even during the 'Lockdown' we were able to move about and such. Did people who lost or quit their jobs during the lockdown just not come back? How do they live? Where do they get their money to survive? Being a warehouse purchasing agent, I do really see the shipping problems. Stuff we could get in a day or two takes a week, stuff we could get in a week takes a month, etc. etc. Yet our line crew seems oblivious. It reminds me of the line in "Men in Black", "Humans, for the most part, don't have a clue. They don't want one or need one, either. They think they have a pretty good bead on things." I, myself, am in no position to stock up or save up anything for the coming tight times. I know I must rely totally and completely on Jesus. And I'm ok with that. He called me, I didn't call Him.

stormyknight - around the larger cities the people who were making a low wage were earning as much or more in some cases through unemployment, so they didnt want to work even though there are jobs. I have not only heard about many people, but even know some. They think they are living high on the hog because they arent working, sitting around doing nothing and making money. To those its a win. To us "if you don't work, you dont eat" is the principle to follow. Christ kingdom mentality vs. world

While my heart is in Tenn. , because of where my daughter and granddaughter live, I actually live in southeast Michigan
In this area, where I live, there are many job postings right in front of businesses and they are not being filled, want to work at McDonalds, sign on bonus and 15 dollars an hour and it is true what Mike said, they, the people collecting unemployment compensation, because of covid, make as much money or more than their regular jobs would pay,why should they want to work. There is no way to be prepared for what is coming, only to be ready when Jesus calls to come up hither, otherwise Jesus knows your needs.

Ezekiel 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
It's like we're living in a livestream of the O.T.
