This morning, my husband was reading to me the story of the walk to Emmaus. As he read, my mind began to wonder why he would appear to certain people after his resurrection and not to all. It seems like it would be such a comfort to us. We know he appeared to the disciples, and to a few others, and unto Paul. I begin to ask God that with all the professed apparitions of Fatima and himself, that many proclaim to have had, why would Jesus not appear unto his true followers? And then I thought came to my head, HE WILL!...that is what the PREtrib rapture is all about! He knows that we all long to see him. But He would want us to long to see him, BECAUSE OF OUR LOVE FOR HIM! Our first meeting of him will be for JOY in who he is, not because we were troubled- for him to take us out of the tribulation(?). Our hearts would be failing for fear at any other timing, wouldn't it? Think about it, if someone was coming running to your door, wouldn't you want their eyes to light up Because they were glad to see you, versus eyes of fear and 'save me'? That look was the look we gave him when we first came to Him. Because the pre-trib Rapture is before the signing of the agreement, our hearts will be at a place for joy because will be snatched out before we realize anything terrible is coming...for certain. Just thinking out loud...and looking for his appearing to me....now or later!

That's a wise point! A survivalist rapture at the end of the Tribulation would not seem like a very joyful event. It would be more like Frodo and Sam at the end of Lord of the Rings who had already been through it all and didn't really want to go on. The pre-trib rapture keeps the joy, hope, and surprise alive.
Plus, better to be in the present Church's condition than Thomas':
"Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.' " - John 20:29
