I think I now understand how to read the O.T. Luke 24 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
The book of Job is a conversation of Job, some friends, and then God. That's what it is supposed to appear to be. I don't think this is the complete picture of the book of Job.
Re-read this book with Luke 24:44-45 at heart.
Start at Job Chapter 3:3
Imagine the conversation is actually about Jesus Christ, before he began his 3.5 year ministry... or maybe in the wilderness for 40 days with the angels ministering to him... and then later with God the Father. ...Imagine that Jesus just found out that He is supposed to die for the sins of the world.
Feel the pain of Christ through Job.

If Luke 24:44-45 is as involved as I think it is... Look what Christ might think of the birthday we celebrate... December 25th, a pagan holiday...
It reads almost identically as Job 3:
Jeremiah 20 14 Let the day on which I was born be cursed. Don’t let the day on which my mother gave birth to me be blessed. 15 Cursed is the person who brought the good news to my father, “A baby boy has been born to you,” making him very happy. 16 May that man be like the cities that the Lord overthrew without compassion. Let him hear a cry in the morning, and a battle cry at noon, 17 because he didn’t kill me in the womb, so that my mother would have been my grave and her womb forever pregnant. 18 Why did I ever come out of the womb to see trouble and sorrow, and to finish my life living in shame?

Ezekiel! It's Christ! He's the one that swallows the scroll that's sweet as honey in the mouth, its also Revelation. It's Christ!
Ezekiel 2 has got to be Christ in the wilderness... This is what Christ was doing there.
Wow! Christ went to the Jews because God ordered Him too in Ezekiel 2. I always wondered about that in the Gospels.
Ok, the Bible just became an order of magnitude more clearer for me!

I've been skipping through the OT reading excerpts here and there with your POV in mind. Jer. 1:4-11 really pops out. Jesus speaking to His human self.
Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
5“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,(In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God)
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
6Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” 7But the LORD said to me,
“Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’;
for to all to whom I send you, you shall go,
and whatever I command you, you shall speak.(Jesus at the temple when he was twelve?) 8Do not be afraid of them,
for I am with you to deliver you, (the resurrection?) declares the LORD.”
9Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me,
“Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
10See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, (the millennium kingdom?) to pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”
11And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond branch.” 12Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

Very interesting. I wonder if Samuel as a child, or David, or any of these other books give light to the child Christ? I've only re-read through a few of the later chapters of Jeremiah, like 24-30 or so... with this new POV; I was researching Deut. So much reading to do.

Truly awesome find, uscgvet , Heart-rending read in this context. How far did you get in Job? I read like 30 chapters last night. I was blown away. I'll try and re-read some because I saw some of what Paul said in Job. I want to take a bunch of notes.

Honestly, uscgvet , just scratched the surface as that's when I started skipping around. But I read Job 3 as you instructed, started into 4 when Jobs friends show up, but stopped and went back to 1 and 2. With the 40 days in the desert in mind, this really gets deep. I mean, it seems as though Satan is telling God that because he(Job/Jesus) is human, he's going to break, he is going to curse God and God is like, nope! No way, no how! And then allows Satan to hammer on Him, which we know Satan did to Jesus every chance he could! Can you imagine Satan's elation when Jesus died on the cross and then his rage and frustration when Jesus rose and left the tomb? wow

How does Missler say it uscgvet? The OT is the NT concealed and the NT is the OT revealed.

From reading Job I believe it isn't just about Christ, it also details important information about the anti-christ. --------------------- Proof Texts:
Job 15:25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
-------
Job 15:30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
---------------------- Possible attributes of the anti-christ:
(overweight?) Job 15:27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
(moves around into abandoned homes?) Job 15:28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
(poor, or became poor?) Job 15:29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
(no kids or nephews or family?)
Job 18:19 He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
(lives in a home he seized?) Job 20:19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
I'm sure there's quite a lot more. Too much reading for just me.

Feel the pain of Christ through Job. Paul and Christ gave us insight into trying to see the OT in a new way. Christ did when he "re-expounded"/brought to fullness the Law. Then Paul points us to thinking from a different view when he gives the example of the oxen, then point out that God doesn't care about oxen, he cares about people! Warms my heart to see others taking a "fresh" look at the OT with "new" eyes.
