Lately the issues surrounding the vatican and pope have been surfacing and on my mind a little. I wanted to open the thread to have an ongoing discussion about these topics.

A couple days ago the pope said he cant bless gay marriage because its sin, see this article
He also did not completely condemn it "The church and priests can still bless people who are gay who live in "fidelity," the statement says. "Rather, it declares illicit any form of blessing that tends to acknowledge their unions."

Then some in the catholic church opposed the view on blessing marriage, in this article

What is happening here...On one front it seems to be somewhat Godly however the 'back door' statements are quite concerning. Interested the insight of others

mike, I think this is one way to keep their followers in the congregation. Some truth with lies sprinkled in. Month-by-month, year-by-year I think they are revealing more and more of their true beliefs and agenda. This is how satan has operated throughout history and is going to continue to convince those who don't know God's word in the end. All I/we can do is expose their false teachings and pray for those friends and family to "come out of her" and seek the truth of the Lord. BTW, I was in the Catholic church, by marriage, for a number of years until I could take it no longer and we found an Evangelical church that truly taught from the Bible. However, I think there are protestant churches as well that are falling away from God's word and people need to come out of them as well. It's sad to think there will be a great falling away and this is just another sign that it may be coming soon, if it hasn't started already.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Sprinkle in some conservative-sounding morals with the lie that all paths lead to God.

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." (1 Cor. 15:3–4)
