I was thinking about this the other day. It reminded me of when they were expected to worship Nebuchadnezzar's idol or be thrown in the furnace.
Is this another foreshadowing? When I think of the implications, if we overlay that event with the upcoming prophecy, then God kept the youths through the fire - a post trib conclusion. However, from a dispensationalist POV, the Church would already be gone and God says He will seal 144k Jews, thus keeping them through the Tribulation. So God, once again, keeps a remnant for Himself, not depending on human compliance. At least 144k ethnic Jews will be entering the Kingdom through Christ as a result of God's intervention.
So, to me, I think this supports the belief that Tribulation is for the Jews , and we will be gone.

In that story, some see Daniel as representing the church. Where was he when his companions were in this trial? He had been raised up to a higher position and "remained at the king's court". (See Dan 2:46-49)
