There is no literal rapture - the term is NOT even in the Bible. The British minister who coined it first said it was going to happen in 1830, then 1850, etc. The Revelation 20:4 states that the returned "Christ rules for a 1,000 years". I Thess 4:17 is a prophecy of the Christ returning in a time of airplanes.
Only Evangelicals believe in the rapture - none of the other Christians denominations do. Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Lutherans, Anglican/Episcopal, Presbyterians, Methodists, United Church of Christ, Mormons, Unity - none of these believe in the rapture.
We are experiencing The Apocalypse/Revelation (not the 'end of the world') when the Christ returns, produces the "book/scroll sealed with 7 seals" (Rev 5:1) and then 'the shit hits the fan'! "Plague, locusts, economic collapse, civil unrest, etc."

However a simple check into the original language would help prove out for you that it comes from the Koine greek harpazo - to seize, catch up, snatch away AND in Latin it would be translated rapturo. Denominations teach what itching ears like to hear. Students of Gods Word do know and understand what this means. Sorry Brad but it seems to me you are reaching for things to argue about. Dont take that approach, it wont last long here. Your third statement is debatable - if we are experiencing the Revealing things are about to get much worse. If we are not, then things are really going to get a lot worse. I agree the things we see are either or. No more profanity - Last and final warning on that, please read the rules that both Natalie and I posted for you.
