The irony is the scoffers—in perfect 2 Peter 3 style—always say "Christians have always been saying Jesus is coming back..." No doubt Noah's scoffers spoke similarly. "You've been building this stupid boat for decades Noah. You're a kook!"
We're closer and closer and closer, and when this final flood really does come, the scoffers will have wished they had listened the first time they ever heard someone "set a date."

Thinking outside the box just a bit, it's worth watching Paul's latest on one way to understand Dan. 9:27 in relation to the DoTC.
It resonates with me that the one week of Dan 9:27 isn't defined by the confirmation itself, but by God. The seven years is God's own decision and it's the final period demarcated by God to complete the 70 weeks... so... it could be right that it isn't that the confirmation itself states "seven years," but that the confirmation of a covenant dividing the land will PERSIST for seven years until Christ returns to undo it. It makes sense especially in light of the fact that during the GT [remnant] Israel will be in hiding (probably in Petra or somewhere around there). Could mean what's happening today through Wednesday is more pivotal than many realize. We'll see what happens.
