brothers and sisters: I was wondering how you would define the phrase in scriptures: “our blessed hope” ? Eg. Titus 2:13 and in several other locations of the gospel.. the blessed hope in the context as a conventional pre-trib timeline (rapture) VS. after the revealing of AC? As a few people on this site have expressed their belief no harpazo event will occur prior to the revealing of the son of perdition, I would like to know what the blessed hope means to those people?
Doesn’t the blessed hope help the argument or certainty for a departure prior to the revealing of the man of sin?
Everyone’s thoughts welcome

rockito , Lately I have pondered this situation: The appearing, and the greek word in Titus here referring to manifestation of our Lord Jesus and God, is itself what causes the man of lawlessness to be revealed. Looking at the context of Titus 2:13 there are these key phrases: 11For the grace of God {Jesus}has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
For me this states that those who deny ungodliness and worldly desires have set their hearts on Jesus, the Truth, the Light, the Way, the Redeemer who will purify what has yet to be purified: our FLESH. He has Spiritually SAVED in this present age, and when He Returns, that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;We know we struggle with our fleshly desires. It is the "woman" of us, so to speak, the rib out of God's creation who was deceived, and was led away from God's Truths. Jesus came in this Flesh as GRACE against this problem we have (fleshly weakness). When we are changed in a twinkling, this will reveal what has been the root of lawlessness. When mortal has put on immortality DEATH will not have a sting on us. Death meaning, Lies, Deception, Self-centeredness. the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
13But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanks be to God for those of us unblinded now in this present Age. When the transformation happens, the Blessed Hope, it will all make sense. Verse 11 of Thes above gives the reason for what God's plan is and why the Hope we have is so blessed and we rest assured in it.
Jesus tells us this Himself about this lawlessness: 17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18“He who believes in Him is not judged;
he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
these scriptures are all about the same thing, for me anyways. And when He Returns, it will be very interesting to see what happens to those who attempt to hide under their rocks and caves from the Presence of Him. I hesitate to make a statement about what it looks like, but sure seems like when He Returns, His Glorious Appearing/Manifestation will answer all our questions. The whole creation is groaning for this revealing as well.
Rom 8 19For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body
