Not really trying to start a new thread here. I just wanted to share something I was meditating on last night and help build up everyones' spirits in these trying times.
I've read so many things and watched so many videos that I don't remember where now it was that I heard this recently(I'm thinking it was J.D.Farag, but not sure).
Anyway, I was thinking about the verse in 1 Peter 1:8 "Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy," Especially the "rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy."
It is a well known thought in academia that the more you know, the sadder life is, which is actually the opposite of "Ignorance is bliss". But for a believer, the more you know, or the closer you get to God/Jesus Christ, the happier you are, or more accurately, the less fearful you are. No fear of demons, no fear of dying because neither has no power over you any longer.
So, to the inexpressible part. Inexpressible meaning, there are no words to express the feeling of joy we feel. We, as humans, feel emotions and we know what brings them on. And whether science will admit it or not, we "feel" emotions because we have a spirit, given to us by God, Gen. 2:7.
So when God gives us His Holy Spirit, and it dwells within us, we "may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Eph. 3:18-19
We don't have words to describe the joy.
Imagine if you will, the moment Jesus woke up from being dead. Yes, I know, God knew what all was going down, how the plan is going to work out and all that. But just think of that moment when Jesus woke up. The amount of joy in His heart, in His Holy Spirit! He had conquered death! It was finished! Imagine further the joy He will feel when the dead are woken up and we are changed! His first Children from all of humanity. We have His Holy Spirit within us, so we would feel that same joy in our hearts. INEXPRESSIBLE AND GLORIOUS!!!
I went to sleep last night thinking and looking forward to feeling Divine Joy! I hope this helps you all sleep better, too!
