Hello all!
I know that there is a similar thread on this for the Millennial Kingdom, but I was wondering the same thing on the New Earth. Do y’all think that people on the New Earth will be able to develop modern, and even futuristic, technology due to abundant resources? Or, do y’all think that it will be a return to the Garden of Eden and primitive technology? I was just wondering.

Interesting question as my Pastor asked me the same thing.

Consider that from steam technology to microcomputers was only about 100 years.

Will we need advanced technology with our upgraded glorified bodies? Tech is supposed to be used to make life easier and tasks more efficient and less time consuming. Will there be a need for that in eternity? Though theoretically if all humans were working together without any war, strife, or greed we could prob advance computers and other technology exponentially quickly. Maybe one day people will have the technology capable to harness the energy from a black hole. Fun to think about.

Also, consider this y’all. Due to the abundance of resources that God will put at our disposal to develop technology and culture on the New Earth, as well as resurrected bodies, minds, and hearts, it may take us 100 years, or maybe even a few short decades, to get from ancient primitive technology (at the beginning of man at the Garden of Eden) to 21st Century technology on the New Earth. This is just assuming that at the beginning of eternity on the New Earth. And yardstick, on the New Earth, if we were to go from steam technology to microcomputers, I believe due to the things I listed in the last sentence, it could take us 50 years and maybe even less, to develop into those technologies. Throughout eternity, if there is such a thing as technology on the New Earth, we will have the capabilities due to abundance and humanity’s resurrected state, we could develop some pretty advanced technologies all throughout eternity (think about Star Trek-level technology and even beyond that!) It’s all pretty cool to me that if God gives us the ability to develop technology on the New Earth to help enhance our lives in eternity, that we will have all eternity to develop it into an extremely strong state.

I think those without glorified bodies will need the tech, because the Scriptures do say that there will be people here who live through the Trib (saved and unsaved), and are alive during the 1000 year reign. On the other hand, its possible that part of our 'reigning' and duties will be to 'shepherd' people to Jerusalem. I would not be surprised to find us capable of telekenesis, telepathy, and teleportation.

It's certainly possible. I want to make sure that I clarified that the millennium is not the same as the new heaven and new earth. I believe the new heaven and new earth occur after Satan is let loose from the pit he was thrown into (directly as a result of the second coming), and after he loses the final battle (this may be armageddon). Recall that John was commanded to seal up some of the prophecy in Revelation. It is my hypothesis that this sealed prophecy will concern the time either during the millennial reign of Christ; or after (relating it to the new heaven and the new earth).
