This is written to give people food for thought.
I'm sure some have noticed, but I'm sure some have not. In the grand battle plan that the devil has against God, there are many different things in motion. Many areas that are simultaneously under assault, but there is one area that is coming under one of his most heavy assaults yet, and it is happening at a frightening pace:
The devil is focused on destroying the *concept* of truth.
No longer is there just a direct assault on the tree, but he has had his minions dig deep underground and are now attacking the roots. Trying to destroy the foundation.
It's not just "fake news" or propaganda. If you think it is, try and look outside of the box. This is about the idea and definition of what truth itself is. Our world is filling up very quickly with technology that is outpacing education. The ability to manipulate an image or video is becoming almost obscene in the level of quality. The same with audio.
Some may have heard the term "deep fake". If you haven't, be aware now. "Deep fake" is a somewhat broad term used to describe an image or video that is digitally manipulated to make it appear as if one person is in the image or video that was never there. This originated within the pornography industry driven by the desires of men. However while most have ignored it, assuming that when they hear "deep fake" or something similar, that it is another story about photo manipulation, fake UFO footage, etc.
It is beyond that. We are quickly entering an age where they can take footage of one person, and then through computers manipulate the video *and* audio to pretty much have the person say what ever they wish for them to be saying. The technology isn't perfect yet, but at the pace things are advancing, it is not far off.
We have also become increasingly isolated with all this global communication.
Let's take what happened in Gilroy, California recently. Someone used a gun and killed people ruthlessly.
But did he? I know, news shows, etc. But ask yourself this: Unless you know someone who was personally there, do you *really* know that it happened?
Now, I'm confident that it did. I have family in the Bay Area, and I don't think things have gotten *that* far out of control yet, but let's look at a more benign example: "New study shows Christians more likely to advocate for hateful causes".
Not a real headline, of course, but if you saw that on the news, how fast do you think you could research whether or not it is even real, or if there ever was such a study? It's becoming increasingly difficult to pin these things down as fact. This is due, in part, to our society being conditioned to accept what they see on TV, hear on the radio, and read on the internet as factual.
I am reminded of two bumper stickers. One that I've seen many times "Question Authority", and one that I've only seen once, maybe twice: "Question Everything".
And are we not being told by media to question everything? We're told to question reality itself in any number of ways. "Thou shall not bear false witness" is quickly becoming the most commonly broken commandment today.
I don't personally know how to handle this very much. I am a very fact/truth focused individual, and the very foundations of humanity are now under assault, but I think the first step to keeping people focused is making sure people are aware of it. It is something that is affecting all areas of life, including the church. I'm looking to put together a list of videos that are on the internet in which people use the exact same scriptures to prove views that oppose each other.
God's word is truth. How it is being interpreted is... sometimes annoying, in my personal opinion.
My wife and I have discussed the assault on truth several times, and we always sort of have to laugh at it. Why?
Because at the rate we are going, when the anti-Christ shows up, no-one is going to believe it. He'll perform a miracle, and everyone will just shrug and go "Photoshopped!"
