I have my own feelings in regards to Sunday worship, but I want to hear from you guys: Fritz Gary Social Natalie etc
Why do you or you do not, feel Sunday is the day we should worship and by doing so, we are or are not breaking the sabbath. I’ve read many articles regarding this but I’d rather hear from the body then writers.

I have not really studied this a great deal. The brief studying I have done showed that Jesus addressed many of the ten commandments showing that it is a heart issue as compared to an outward obedience. From what I remember, He did not address the Sabbath. In Hebrews, it says that we who have believed have entered into His rest. (Chapter 4) "So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from His." (4:9-10) And the people of God are those who believe (4:3) So, I find it to mean that the Sabbath cannot be broken because we have it's fulfillment through our faith in Christ.
One other thought- I was looking at Exodus 20 and a note I had written "We rely on Him to help us follow the commandments He gave - Love God and love others. Everything else will fall in place." I have never felt convicted that I was breaking the Sabbath. I have felt convicted on some other commandments, and it usually stemmed from the fact that I was not loving my neighbor properly.

On having Sunday worship - I think it's somewhere in Acts that says they met on the first day of the week. But I also found 2:46 "And day by day, attending the temple together..." The church was the center of life. A girl from our church spent some time in Egypt and the Christian family she was with went to the church almost every day. We don't do that here. I personally don't think it matters which day we worship as a local body; I feel that we should worship Him everyday, but definitely make time to worship with other Christians.

I think the early church gathered on Sunday because it was Resurrection day. But many of them also may have kept the Sabbath (the Jewish folks anyway). I think as Christians we are free from it. Keeping the Sabbath is part of the Law, and we are free to worship when and where we like. (All the time is good! ) I also know the 7th Day Adventist folks would disagree with me. I know many Christians today say they "keep the Sabbath" (but I doubt many fully understand what all that entails), which I think is fine, as long as they don't think that they must do this to "stay in God's graces"...make a work out of it. It's fine for us to worship any day of the week we choose. The point is, we need to set aside time for rest, and time for God. If we gather together on Wednesday's (a workday) at 2am, it's accepted. Because of Jesus, our access to the throne is unrestricted.

Those are 2 good points you guys bring up. Fritz said we have open access to the throne and Natalie mentioned that we must take time to give God time.

We should keep the Sabbath; but what many others who say we should keep it don't realize is that Jesus is our Sabbath and we are in Him by faith. Not by making one day more set apart than the others.

venge, where I am from (grew up - although some would debate I'm grown up ) everyone had/has a nickname. The first time I noticed you said Fritz (not Fitz) was shortly after you first joined, and I thought you did it by accident. Then I saw you do it again, and was like "is he doing this to be a 'nudge'". After a while I saw that the two of you had dialogued a bit and Fitz, never mentioned it so I figured it was all good. Now when I see it I laugh, its funny to me

fitz, re: "I think the early church gathered on Sunday because it was Resurrection day." Just so it's understood that scripture is silent with regard to anyone observing the 1st day of the week in recognition of the resurrection.

Yes, you are correct, but it is clearly implied. You'd have a hard time discounting that Troas believers gathered "on the first day of the week to break bread" and they heard a long message from Paul. (Acts 20:7).
Or Paul commands the Corinthians to set aside money for the poor “on the first day of every week” (1 Cor. 16:2)
Or that John heard a loud voice speaking to him “on the Lord’s day” (Rev. 1:10)
Of course, the first day of the week begins @ sundown Saturday...but even 1st century Jews slept at night. Sunday would have been THE day, and IMHO, they met on that day, because of that day. YMMV.
Blessings
