I don't know, but they are all welcome to come to the greatest sanctuary for Christians on earth. The United States. The Woman took two wings of a Great Eagle to fly to the Wilderness, the oceans swallowed up the dragon's flood, then war broke out against the dragon, the Woman's Children who escaped to America, beat his tail to a pulp while it scrambled to get back to babylon. Wua Ed!! you can't be serious! hey,,, all those Christians in the middle east can return home after they help us destroy the dragon. The ol' dragon has been takn a beatn lately ya know. I see no reason it will stop on Sep. 23, on the contrary, it gets beat so bad in heaven before it leaves, it has to conjour up some old pals from the abyss to help defend itself when it gets stuck here. I think the reason it has been in heaven makin a lotta stink, is because it's afraid to show it's face here, as things hav'nt worked out so well for it in the past 200 years of so. I've often wondered if the wings of the great eagle as mentioned in Revelation 12:14 are connected with the US, and I've often wondered what the wilderness is that the woman would flee to and whether it was in the 1st half of the tribulation or the 2nd half. I've heard good theories for both time periods, particularly the idea of Petra during the 2nd half, but I've always suspected that the wilderness flight would occur in the 1st half.
At any rate, I remember reading that Christians fleeing from the Middle East were being allowed into the US in extremely small numbers during the Obama administration, while Muslims were welcomed with open arms. Has this changed at all since President Trump came into office? I pray so.
It seems to me the Enemy Dragon has grown increasingly powerful in this fallen world--particularly in these past 17 years. He is growing bolder with the decimation of morality. I do agree he is going to be beaten badly during the war in heaven and will be in a rage when he is thrown down to earth. But for the time being, I see only an increase in his sway over the world--both abroad and here in the US. I don't believe he is afraid to be here on the earth--but when he is forced out of the heavens, he will know he has little time left to try to win his battle against the Lamb. I'm so glad the Lord will have the victory.

Yes, Satan has not yet been cast out of Heaven, and the Tribulation itself has not begun yet. As for the eagle's wings given to the woman, it could be the US involved, but the wings help her escape to the Wilderness. I take the wings to mean aircraft (possibly US-built, possibly US-operated). But I wouldn't call the USA a wilderness (today, anyway). Where Israel will be hidden during the Trib is a great question. Petra has been the favorite idea for many scholars, but I don't know that we can count on that being the place.
Also remember that the beast like a lion in Daniel 7 had two wings like an eagle, which were plucked off. I've considered these two things related.
I also highly suspect that USA will be decimated by the human resources loss of the rapture combined with the early trumpet judgments, and will not be a major political player anymore after the rapture.

Could it be that the wilderness experience in Revelation 12 has to do with the false covenant made with the antichrist--a sort of protection by the beast during the 1st half of the tribulation before the abomination of desolation?

Maybe, I really don't know for sure. I just find it interesting, and think it may be somehow related.

I also highly suspect that USA will be decimated by the human resources loss of the rapture combined with the early trumpet judgments, and will not be a major political player anymore after the rapture. I agree, and I suspect that much of the political system of this country is under the control of the Enemy, who's gradually wrapped his tentacles into every nook and cranny of government all around the world. The Holy Spirit is acting as a restrainer of the lawlessness through the lives of Christians, and when we are taken away during the rapture, what indeed will be left? I suspect that, after the initial shock of knowing the rapture has taken place, much of the world will rejoice at the thought that there is now no restraint on any of their evil plans. But then the judgments will devastate the world, and populations will be gravely reduced. It would be a frightening thing to be living in the world at that time and to know that not only natural disasters will be occurring, but that the nuclear weapons and so on of the nations of the world will be in the hands of evil men.

I am glad you all invest yourselves in these important issues of Scripture. You should take me with a wee bit of salt,, as I am as much Irish as anything else. So my plays on the wording of the text are intended to loosen up the crust of things a bit. I can make a case from the scripture for England and America being the wilderness, as that was certainly what they were when the Apocalypse was given. So in the prophetic types we are attempting to understand, if the text directs us to the far west in different chapters, then we'll go from that. I have already exposed one clue from Isaiah 24 yesterday in the aliens thread. There are some other hot spots for this.

Ok, well try to go slowly and heavy on the scripture, because this is new to some of our members, and goes counter to much of what we have been thinking. If you're right (about all of it or some of it), then that's fine, but let's take it slowly, piece by piece, and with lots of good evidence, especially from Scripture. We do want to determine the truth.
