Hey all.
I've been sick a lot this spring. I had a really bad cold where my sinuses were super congested. Followed very shortly after by a flu with a horrible cough. I wasn't able to eat for 5 days because I was coughing so hard. If that wasn't enough, I followed that up with a horrible sore throat cold (that probably was Strep Throat). All of that took place over quick succession, starting near the end of March.
I was struggling on, didn't book a doctors appointment because I was too busy and figured it would (hopefully) go away by the time I could get into seeing my doctor. I also hate sitting in outpatient/emergency at the hospital because for the most part, I don't think whatever I am suffering from is actually an emergency. On June 12 I started to get a rash on my neck. It spread to my arms and chest. I was waiting to book an appointment for July (had to call the last Monday of June to book for July) but my Mother-in-law (former RN) sent me to emergency when she saw me after I had it a week. Fast forward to this week and I had my follow up appointment with my doctor. (He was actually the doctor on call the day I went in) The oral meds he gave me had done nothing. I am off to see a Dermatologist when they phone me back. (Canadian referrals take time) He diagnosed me with Guttate Psoriasis.
I am presently covered all over with spots. Apparently one of the treatments is sun exposure. I am not a fan of the sun on my skin. My prayer request is that no more new spots come to the surface and for healing of the ones I have. However, if it is God's will that I am to be one of the very few people who suffer from this type of psoriasis their whole lives, I pray for clarity and understanding as to what his path for me is. I also pray that the itching stays at bay. They haven't been too itchy yet but today they have been more itchy that usual.
I've been quite exhausted as I have been battling all the spring sickness and now the psoriasis. I have low energy and have been sleeping alot. I pray that I may have enough energy to be able to focus on leading my kids through a bible study this summer that I purchased last month for us to do over the holidays.
