The easy number 4s are the 4 gospels, 4 horsemen, and 4 angels.
Then there are the 4 plagues, 4 beasts, 4 winds, and 4 corners of the earth.
And how about Rev. 18:14, 21, 22, and 23 that provides these 4 references: "thou shall find them (merchandise) no more at all," "shall be found (Babylon) no more at all," shall be heard (craftsmen) no more at all in thee," and "shall shine (Christ and his bride) no more at all in thee." This shows that merchandise, Babylon, craftsmen, as well as Christ and his bride all depart at the time of Babylon's destruction.
Or how about the one hundred and 4-ourty and 4 thousand.
And how about Rev. Verse 1:8 that first references God 4 times (Alpha, Omega, The Beginning, The Ending) and then another 4 times (which Is, which Was, which Is to Come, Almighty). Wow.

That was the sound of Jesus starting the work on building His Temple one brick at a time. The cleansing of the Sanctuary, the judgement of the dead in 1844. 2300 years since 457BC ended in 1844. Aren't these the same forms of currency that Solomon used to pay his servant Hiram, the King of Tyre, for his help in building a temple in 2Chronicles2 ? "Now therefore the wheat and barley, oil and wine, of which my lord has spoken, let him send to his servants. And we will cut whatever timber you need from Lebanon and bring it to you in rafts by sea to Joppa, so that you may take it up to Jerusalem.” - Wheat.
- Barley.
- Oil.
- Wine.

in regards to 40: The last paragraph is interesting because many have talked about a generation being 70 (or 80) taken from a psalm, I believe. Nonetheless, I have felt that 40 is typically a testing period. What is really interesting to me is the factors of number and how they add up. There always seems to be a consisitency. 40 is 4 times 10... so what is said about 10: Ten is also viewed as a complete and perfect number, as is 3, 7 and 12. It is made up of 4, the number of the physical creation, and 6, the number of man. As such, it signifies testimony, law, responsibility and the completeness of order. In reply to boraddict with the 144,000... it is not the 4 that is the focus to me because we are told more about the number 12 in regards to this 144,000.. so IMO it is a 12 times 12, times 10 x 10 x 10...(trinity) which is interesting as 12 can mean this: "considered a perfect number, is that it symbolizes God's power and authority, as well as serving as a perfect governmental foundation. Christ called and choose twelve men to bear witness to what he did and to spread the good news of the gospel to the entire world." So this 144,000 could signify something completely NOT Israel as we know it but Twice the 12 Witnesses as before (2) that are complete because of their Faith in Jesus which makes them "clean" in the presence of God born again anew by the Holy Spirit (not defiled anymore). God, Son, Holy Spirit (the Trinity). (hmmmm...sounds like those of the Church that experience the rapture of the first fruits...) Thanks davewatchman for the wheat barley oil wine analogy. Again going back to the 4 thing. 4 Horsemen, yes, that makes sense that is something created or allowed by God. 4 elements in the 3rd Seal, one that you say; in building a temple in 2Chronicles2 ? I find this hugely SIGNIFICANT!! The CREATION of the Final Temple!! Because, the BOR is about building the Temple, not with hands but with Faith Followers who are harvested creating the new City. And this restoration of many into communion with the Lord for the great a glorious Supper! |

"And in the FOURth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But the Jews sliced the night into thirds, the OT only ever mentioned three watches of the night. With the first watch only for the woe to pregnant women and praying for the children starving at every street corner in Lamentations, and the second watch in Judges confirming that the fire will still be concealed at that time. It would be somewhere within the third Hebrew watch that the Master would come. "If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! Either way it sounds on the late side, deep into the night. It doesn't say the exact hour within the fourth watch that Jesus came to His disciples walking on the water in Matthew 14 when they were in their tribulation, but i think it's safe to say that their 4th watch had already begun. We could be in the same boat. So if one were to overlay the Roman 4 watches on top of the Hebrew three, we could be already a substantial way into the Hebrew third watch before Jesus comes to His end time disciples. We could actually be more than half way through the third watch, with only 5 or 6 months to go. The 9th of AV on July 21 only measures 170 days until the sun is "darkened", and 14 days latter when the moon will not give her light. There's plenty of time for the trumpets, and to do no harm to the five month locusts, or to the FOUR angels bound at the Great River Euphrates. The heat finally got to my location in the sticks. I'm scorched with fervent heat. "The FOURth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. |
