I have been studying Jerimiah and came across text that hit me as "this is tribulation!" because many of YOU like ME have tribulation material so ingrained into our heads, we can read OT scripture and understand it easier.
Which brings us to Luke 17:31-33
Simple enough verse. In the day that Israel is attacked and surrounded by enemies, when the AoD is setup, Christ says not to go back home. Don't go back to Israel. Don't enter the city. Remember what happen to Lot's wife cause you will turn to salt too..no, j/k Lot's wife's heart was with her treasures in Sodom. Her heart was not with God. She chose to live wickedly and so she died with the wicked. She wanted to save her life (not physical life but her life on earth, her wicked ways and sinful nature) instead of leaving that life which is living in the spirit. She also wanted to return to Sodom physically, not believing the angels perhaps...which is disbelieving God.
Interestingly, Jerimiah 21:8-10 shares the same situation when put in a future Daniel 70th week scenario.
God says there are 2 ways: Life and Death. He was speaking to the Israelites before the Babylonians were to come. The Babylonian kingdom is a shadow of a part of the future 4th kingdom. He that stayed in the city would die by sword, famine, and pestilence. No different then he who returns to the city when surrounded by the invading army in Daniel's 70th week. BUT, he that goeth out and falleth to them, he shall live and his life shall be unto him for a prey which is interpreted as a prize because you will live.
God says he has decided the city and everyone in it will die because of wickedness. Therefore, anyone who stays dies, and those who flee or leave and get captured could live. If you were to flee and die in fleeing, better to die then to remain in a wicked place because then you would be accepting its wickedness. You may think you are just hiding to live but God's will says leave. If you don't follow His will, you are against it.
The Pharisees did not follow and they died. Many Jews did not follow and the Babylonians killed those who remained. So to in the future, those who remain, those who return...why would you enter a city God has destined for destruction?
Thoughts?

While you all are reading the first portion, I want to tack on additional info to consider. When we get to Jerimiah 24:5-8, it piggy backs on the following message.
This time, God mentions Good figs and Bad figs. Notice here, the good figs are carried away captive and they were sent away from the city. The bad figs stayed in the city and refused to leave. They wanted to find their life and God said they would lose it. But the good figs lost their lives and they kept them.
In verse 10, we see what happens to those that stay and are evil.

This is no different than what I have said many times before :
the 'wicked prince of Israel' performs a 'transgression' (see Ezekiel 8), then as punishment, 'Israel' is taken over by the Assyrian, the False Prophet, the little horn of Dan 8
there are 2 individuals: Death & hades; Abaddon & Apollyon; man of sin & son of perdition; antichrist (aka mortally head wounded individual) & false prophet. Why?
Revelation is patterned after the Deuteronomy blessings & curses for faithfulness/ unfaithfulness. Read Deut 28-32 esp.
Deut 28
25 “The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away. [...] 36 “The Lord will bring you and your king whom you set over you to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. And there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone. 37 And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the Lord will lead you away.
The original pattern here is apostate 10 tribes Israel leaves Benjamin & Judah and sets up their own king (read 10 horns then 11th horn). Then they are taken over by the Assyrian as punishment by God (read False Prophet who makes them serve other gods of wood & stone).
Dan 8
9 Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land. 10 It grew great, even to the host of heaven. And some of the host and some of the stars it threw down to the ground and trampled on them. 11 It became great, even as great as the Prince of the host. And the regular burnt offering was taken away from him, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown. 12 And a host / [army] will be given over to it together with the regular burnt offering because of transgression, and it will throw truth to the ground, and it will act and prosper.
In other words, the 'wicked prince of Israel' 'breaks the covenant' in the middle of a 7 day period (breaking it on Dec 21, 2020), then on the 10th of Tevet (Dec 25, 2020) (Ezekiel 24:1-2), Babylon attacks Jerusalem as punishment from God. this is the meaning of 'when they say, 'peace & security', then sudden destruction'. The covenant makes them feel safe, the 'wicked prince of Israel' breaks it 3.5 days later, then Babylon attacks them 3.5 days after that.
same as Matt 24
15“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.
21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. [...]
29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
the abomination of desolation causes the start of the 'kingdom of heaven' (on earth): the people who leave the wicked city form the 10 virgins of Matt 25, aka the 'kingdom of heaven' (on earth) (Matt 25:1). There is no 'whisked away' rapture. The people who flee are the people who are gathered. It is no different than Jeremiah 24:5 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
That 'carried away' is the same idea as 'harpazo' / seizing. They are gathered because they have fled the wicked city.
same idea in Matt 12
22Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw. 23And all the people were amazed, and said, “Can this be the Son of David?” 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.” 25Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. 26And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. 30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
That word 'plunder' is the 'harpazo', the 'seizing' of people who are being 'gathered'.

Blur,
The text was related from Luke to Jerimiah. It was about staying in a city that was going to be destroyed or leaving to save your life.
I was not talking about the AoD, the Antichrist, the 4th kingdom or any of that.
The whole premise was when Jerusalem is surrounded by nations those who stay in a city when God tells them to flee in the bible stay contrary to God's command and they will die. Those who flee will save their lives.
