Rapture (chart 1) #1 (using NKJV) John 14:1-3 1Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
vs Second Coming
Colossians 3:4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (I am not sure this is clearly a Second Coming verse)
Zechariah 14:5 5Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with Him.
Jude 14-15 14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
Rev 19:14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. (looking back at 19:7-8 to see who this is--the Bride of Christ)

Rapture
1 Thes 4:13-18 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words.
vs Second Coming
Zech 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south. (That will be a sight to see!)
Rev 19:11-21 11Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

vs Second Coming (wicked taken away, righteous left)
Matthew 13:28-30 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
(I would also add 13:36-43 and 13:47-50 Each telling about the angels gathering the wicked and leaving the righteous)

Otherwise, why would 1 be taken and 1 left if the rapture happened. There is only 1. Luke 17:34 2 in a bed, 1 taken and 1 left.

Before Luke 17:30 Christ tells us that the 2 in the field, 1 taken and 1 left happens just like the days of Noah and Lot.
He says life was normal, then Noah and Lot were led away to safety and then destruction comes. In verse 30 he answers when the safety happen. Our harpazo before the destruction. He says it happens in the day the son of man is revealed. When is he revealed? We find it in Matthew 24:30 When he is revealed all the tribes will mourn. Immediately after the tribulation.

I liked this quote also:
When the Lord described His coming in Luke 17:26-29, He said that it would be both like the days of Noah (some will be preserved through the accompanying judgments) and the days of Lot (some will be taken away before them). And what about the promise He made to the Church in Philadelphia that he would keep us out of the “hour” of trial coming on the whole world. (Rev. 3:10) (Jack Kelley)

(Rev. 3:10) (Jack Kelley) What I always find interesting is that every Christian or denomination, assume they are the church of Philadelphia. If there are 7 churches and only 1 is the type that will escape out of 7, 6 will not escape and of the 6, many will assume they are Christians. But he will say, I never knew you. The hour of temptation that the 1 church is kept from is an hour that is not described as wrath here. But a trial. I am under the opinion that this hour happens after the 7th seal. The temptation of will you give up Christ to save your life? Will you betray other Christians for yourself? Will you perhaps hoard food/water etc for yourself or family instead of giving to those in need? A true test of your spiritual testimony on earth. Will you pass or fail! Then a question arises: why would Christ ask angels to gather believers into his barn before he burns the enemy at the 2nd coming if that describes the rapture and it is his 2nd coming? I guess, the question remains, how many advents are there? Answer is 2. So, if the next time Christ returns is the second, he can’t come in the clouds and the earth for that makes 3. How many times does he return in the clouds that counts as an advent?

I ask, what about Rev 14? It is an overview of three "harvest"
Firstfruits, Wheat and then Grapes. To me these are 3 distinct events that are part of the Kingdom of God taking over the rest of the kingdoms that have been reigning on earth and is the essence of the Revealing of Christ. I also ask, the marriage Supper happens after the fall of mystery Babylon, the Harlot.
1After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2BECAUSE HIS JUDGMENTS ARE TRUE AND RIGHTEOUS; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and HE HAS AVENGED THE BLOOD OF HIS BOND-SERVANTS ON HER.” 3And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! HER SMOKE RISES UP FOREVER AND EVER.” 4And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” 5And a voice came from the throne, saying,
“Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. 7“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
The bride I believe is ALL that have come to faith after the fall of babylon/destruction of fleshly desires/disobedience toward God. The Last Supper in the upper room before the crucifixion is the foreshadow of His Marriage Supper because it is both bread and WINE..body and blood...the winepress is how the wine is made for this supper.
So this is not disagreeing with the placement of the rapture, but rather seeing that there is so much more to what is a rapture than just going to a prepared room.

Hi Natalie, My wife and I “battle” over the exegesis/interpretation of several of the passages you cited above. She says “Saints” can also mean “only angels” and not necessarily “the elect/believers.” I have been unable to convince her no matter what I do...look at Greek, other passages, etc. if you know a sure 100% way for me to show her conclusively that Saints can only mean believers in these passages I’m all ears. I would like to put that discussion to bed and of course I wouldn’t mind if she said these words, “Okay holy.....you are right (this time)!” Lol

holy what does your wife say about Paul's intro to his letters where he describes "saints' ? Romans 1 .. Jesus Christ our Lord, 5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ; 7 to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
and 1Cor 1..To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
I think I only answered half your concern. It seems the Lord is the one who knows His saints, as He is the one that called them (not a name per se, but a person whom He Calls). The angels to me are those hosts whom minister for Him. I am not sure angels are "human" or made in the image of God, like man is.. We know angels can take on the appearance of man (I have my own testimony for this). Here is scripture: Heb 13: Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
